I have noticed that in the Co-OP missions I have composed that the Convoy's I make do not attempt any evasive Maneavers when attacked by Torpedo. Of course you can do it artificially by setting zig zag waypoints but this kind of defeats the point (no pun intended). I really do not want to have to attack the ships at exactly the same waypoint and time to have them react

Does anybody know if there are plans to make ships take evasive action when attacked like planes do. I mean if you get attacked you have to make a decision if you are a Convoy Leader,

1) go to full speed to reach friendly cover fire or territory

2) Zig zag or other evasive maneavors in the hope that the attack will peter out once they run out of torps or bombs and this will then give you the chance to straighten up and head in the least likely direction your enemy would think

Who would like to see this?? Or not

Oh and while I have you I should also ask if anyone has managed to shoot out AA positions with MG/Canons

Ship, like all ground unit AI is simplified to make it easier on your processor. If the AI behavior was as sophisticated in ground/sea units as it is in AC, FB would bring even the most high-end systems to their knees. I do know that BoB is supposed to have superior AI behavior, but I don't know if that will include ground units.

How about being able to take ot AA positions on the ships with guns

Zig-zagging would only be effective to throw off submarines stalking a convoy or high-altitude precision bombing. Zig-zagging in an attempt to evade dive bombers would be only very slightly effective IMO. You would probably have slightly better chances of evading torpedo bombers by zig-zagging, but not much. Of course, If I was on a ship and it was being attacked, I would certainly make it as difficult to hit me as possible and zig and zag like a madman.

Unfortunately, for the ships, you simply can't turn a big ship fast enough to throw off the aim of a high speed attack from an airplane. You might throw off their aim if you were small ship travelling at a high rate of speed, but freighters in a convoy are sitting ducks. So are submarines. Destroyers and cruisers defend themselves quite well with sniper AAA.

I've tried taking out AAA on ships, but it doesn't seem to work.

For land AA, absolutely, though if you're using MG it can take a few passes. Ships I don't know about.
