like in B-17?

That's not a bad idea but need some better visibility while taxiing.

What do you mean? Are B-17's the only planes that taxi themselves to run way?

I think the request is for offline-campaign missions to start on the parking apron rather than the runway - like in the game B17.

I brought this up a couple weeks ago, except I was referring to online COOPs. It's basically the same thing. There should be a simple option for the host, or player if offline, to select between a runway start or not. Apron starts are already modelled for online dogfights, so there's nothing new to develop here, just a simple option. I've been told that making AIs taxi to the runway would take up too much of the CPU, but they alreay know how to taxi from the runway, so I don't believe that. Anyway, if they don't want to make the AIs do it, that's fine. Start the stupid computer planes on the runway if they have to. But please give the player/host the option of making humans start on the apron. Taking away the start up and taxi process really detracts from the complete mission feeling for those who love realism. This is probably the easiest possible thing that 1C could do to enhance game play. I hope this is added.

man, i thought this was gonna be about getting realistic ground handling for the taildraggers, which 90% of them are

you know ground looping and actually haveing to use the rudder to take off and land, and real pilot that has flown tail draggers will know what im talking about

I'd like a more complete engine start procedure, that's for sure, complete with mechanic to turn the prop a few times before engine kicks in and otehr rpe-flight checks. And more realistic ground handling and having to park in a designated place at end of mission.

I've always had to use rudder on take off/landing in IL2 and FB so isn't that feature in the game already?

yeah, you have to use a little rudder to stay on hte runway, but i think that that part of its pretty much from torque or wind, but it wont flip all the way around like a real tail dragger if you dont use rudder

and if you dont use rudder you can still take off, just wont be on the runway in FB

The government wants to tax FB? No, the title is misspelt.

IIRC realistic engine start has been definitely denied as it would take a lot of work to implement for all the planes, and most people would use it once, then use autostart after that. Remember in CFS M$ only had ~7 planes to model engine start for, not 80.
