What is the difference. Did Natural Point make significant improvements? If anybody here used trackir and switched to trackir2 please share experience.

I've used both. There's a noticeable improvement in the smoothness of the cursor on the desktop. But in FB, it doesn't translate to a HUGE difference. Certainly not enough to justify upgrading from TIR1 to TIR2 - unless you can hand down the TIR1 to your younger brother http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I've heard the same thing. I have/use TrackIR (v1) and have had absolutely NO issues. it is an excellent investment that I can't imagine not having now. As for TrackIR2? If I had a squaddy who didn't have either yet, I would give him my old one at a nice discount and pick up the newer version for me! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

I just took delivery of TIR2 and it appears to be better, in FB, than TIR1.

Using the same dots (4 dots on a post it note/book mark that I stick on my forehead) I get consistently better response.

I am using 3.03 drivers now vs 3.01 with TIR1.

I will be setting up the old unit for my Son this weekend so will try some comparisons, with 3.03 drivers.

Still using the 2.11 drivers here. the 3.01's were trash for me

I upgraded and now I can head bang and shake around and never lose tracking, I would sometimes lose tracking looking over my shoulder and then quickly moving my head back to centre with Track IR 1 this would always happen at the worst moment during a dogfight online so Track IR 2 is slightly better but I don't know if it's really worth it, I'm going to e-bay the old one soon.
