Once again amazed by the damage models in IL2 and FB... observe...

And it's not even a flyable plane!

And a little something I made myself, whilst I'm posting...

Some scallywag in a 109 shot the tail clean off my Hurricane last night, most entertaining to watch the bits splash into the ocean within about 500 square metres, from my parachute.

And I love the way the aircraft rolls slightly on it's wheels from torque when you turn the engine off after landing.

Marvellous.

yeah it needs to become flyable, was widely used on the easter front so was the do217 and others not in the game.

Hopefully the will have an all flyable ai expansion, everyone who bought fb would buy it and they could sell it for 29-39 same price as the game. Id buy that before skins and missions payware addons

haha

Desperate to increase the P~47 roll rate, Republic clipped the wings down to the wing roots.

Kinda like clipping your fingernails waaay too short. My friends used to do that, and then I had to open their beer cans for them. Yeah, its the Macho Thing to clip your fingernails super short, then ask some dude to open your beer can for you. HAHA Macho Noobs

I stiill think the Il-2 has the best damage modell

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge,
ye shall be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be measured
to you again.

Hi Gang
don't know how to post a pic, so got to tell what happen, which I had not seen before

in a offline campaign, flying a 109 G2 with gunpods

vectored into a large SU bombing raid covered by I-16's

tell the boys to get to work, over fly the raid, then roll onto my back to pick out a target, see a pair of 16's flying off by themselfs and dive in to attack, pick on the wingman, close to point blank range and pull the trigger, the RAT blew apart, roll and pull up so I don't get in front of the wingleader, when I see that his plane has been hammered by the other plane that had exploded (got the arrows turned on) think the blast crippled him, as he was a easy kill when I came back in to attack !

LOL! Get shot down enough times, and something interesting is bound to happen. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif In the original 1600 X 1200 resolution, you could see the pilot clearly looking at the wing, thinking, "Wtf?"

Speaking of damage model's. Has anyone had their throttle cable shot out and as a result had an uncontrolable engine? This has happened to me several time's. Take a hit in the engine and a little while later I notice my plane is not responding to my throttle input. It has happened a couple of time's in the He-111 and just recently in the A6M2 Zero. Makes for an interesting landing for sure.

One of my MAIN LOVES of FB/IL2 are the damage models. Ever since the early WWII flight sims I was always thinking, "Planes go down in more ways than just blowing up!"

FB was a dream come true. To date I have seen no sim with such an intricate damage model to nearly all planes. It`s a joy shooting them down (and being shot down).

When I was flying a spitfire, the CPS "unit" got shot out and couldn't control propeler pitch. About the time I figured out what happend, my engine wound out and died.

Ah ha. That's why sometimes when I get hit in the engine area it sound's like the motor is going to wrench it's self right out of it's mount's from over reving. Man, that's some more cool damage modeling. I never thought about that. Thank's
