Well you see? I'm considering taking on FB on that computer of mine but problem is I don't think my computer can actually handle a game like this one.

Here are my computer's specs and tell me what you think

Computer design: Modified HP 6730
CPU: Intel Celeron 600 Mhz
Memory: 64 MB + 128 MB SDRAM with a 32 MB Video Memory Card
Hard Drive:10.2 GB Ultra DMA hard drive
CD-ROM: 48x max speed CD-ROM Drive
Windows System: Windows 98

Do you think I could handle a game like FB with a comp like that? or do I need something that has more punch? I was thinking that if I turn the level of graphics to minimum I might be able to play it but I ain't sure at all.

So what do you guys think? To play or not to play?

You could on medium resolution, medium or low graphics settings... what video card is it? Plus you`ll deffinitely need more memory. At least 512.

If you get it to work. It's not going to look very good. There's no way you can upgrade some?

I dumped a similar system like that 7 months ago. IL2 might be ok though...

That`s if you`re really serious.

The reason i said he could... my friend (cheap bastige) runs FB on P3 550 with 32MB GF2 GTS and SB PCI. All he did is upped the memory from 128 to 512 and it is playable. Doesn`t look good though...that`s for sure. Well, i am the spoiled one...just like most people here /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I'm afraid it's already been upgraded to it's full limits, I'm gonna need a stronger comp, I was afraid of that I just can't keep up with the industry.

I had it modified in order to play the Original IL-2 Sturmovik and Silent Hunter 2 the latter is a U-Boat sim, I guess I'll have to buy myself a copy of FB and hold on to it until I get a stronger comp.

I would agree you might struggle, do you not have someone that has it so you could see if it will run before you buy it then remove it afterwards or go out and if you can afford it buy a copy of IL2 off ebay or the likes as it costs next to nothing these days, try that and if that dont work then you know FB never will

As for RBJ's comments, i'd ignore him, hes only yanking his chain

I already have a copy of IL-2, I'm talking the original of course and it works quite well even on the maximum settings on that computer.

As for FB...Nope I don't know anyone who actually has it irl

I've just started planning buying myself a new computer and it's gonna be a whopper let me tell you but it'll take some time before I make that happen.

Blackjack...as a small example...

I was running IL2 quiet successfully for almost...2 years? On PIII 800 with 512 of RAM and GF2 GTS. ..oh yeah..SB Live! When FB came around i was able to play it on the same settings...only turned off sound acceleration, SB Live! does not like FB at all lol. No, i couldn`t run all exellent...but it was acceptable mix of good and medium settings with 1280x960x32 Res. I could easily play on the flat maps with cockpit on ...getting somewhere from 45 to 20 fps...which is playable (and it was online) Not going to lie to you...mountains and towns were a big problem. But other then that i truly enjoyed it.
Hope that helps.

V!
