Has anyone heard if there will be any P-38's added to the growing list of planes in FB?

P-38J cockpit is 70% done, but I was unable to finish it, so I sent it over to Oleg. He said he will find someone to finish the job.

Gibbage just started the P-38. With any luck he'll get that and the P-80 done soon.

Hello LeadSpitter.

I thought 3ds Max 3 was the only acceptable software for producing aircraft for IL2 and FB.

Is Rev. 5 allowed now?

Can you verify this Dave?

I think the lightning will be a welcome addition to a Med North African sim!

Don't forget that this is forgotten battles... and the russians did fight the japanese.
So there ya go.
I too would like to see the P-38, it's my favorite aircraft of the period.
I also agree that it would be great in a MED/N. Africa scenario... or even Pacific front..... Doing an Aleutian Island campaign could be fun.... ;-D And fitting for the "Forgotten Battles" title.
The North Atlantic could be another great place for the sim... FW200's and early American fighters and bombers flying anti shipping and patrol interdiction would be interesting.

Lead. Dont bother converting down to Max 3. Oleg and crew can now accept Max 5. I gave them the Go-229 in Max 5 and its just fine.

Yeah it wasnt too long ago and thats my point... Im glad we got it too... I am so looking forward to this patch.... I guess I posted this to just kind of remind us that we have a sim here that is not only supported by the developer still but by some awesome 3D artists as well... h@ll it may be closed source.. but I like it like that and I would rather have the quality stuff coming from our 3rd party guys and Oleg like Gibbages 38 and UDs UQMG than a whole slew of half baked stuff that was thrown together on the fly.

LOL, I was thinking... Umm, Im flying it now you tard! Then I looked at the date.. heh.

The P38 is a lot of fun to fly. I cant decide if I want to B&Z in it or turn with it (Using that air break). I do like the fact that I am very easy to sneak up on with those engines so close to my ears. Have you ever really looked at the plane? It's almost as though the cockpit was put in as an after thought... "Hey, dont we need a pilot in this thing?"

A very nice model indeed, and a real pleasure to fly.

I find myself flying USAAF planes more and more, even though I have always HATED that interior green color.. YUCK!

Gib's P38 has inspired me to finish a Revell P-38 I had started but gave up on when I used half a tube of Squadron Green putty. Man, those kits really stink, but they sure are cheap!
