View Full Version : P40 fuel gauge

Can anyone confirm whether:

a) The P40 fuel guage works or not in the unpatched IL2:FB - it always seems to point at near empty no matter what you start off with (unless I'm looking at the wrong gauge), and
b)whether this was fixed in the patch(es)?

Thanks

The P40 fuel guage is on the floor under the right rudder pedal. Not sure if it works though!!??http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

That's the fuel tank selector switch. The P-40 series has no fuel gauge - at least in FB.

P-40 does have a fuel gauge. It is located in bottom right part of the instruments panel. It never worked and still isn't working /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

It has a light indicating "low fuel level" to the left, but I don't know how much fuel "low" is...

Nonsense, the gauge works fine. After all, Oleg said "all the gauges will work in FB".

I am now accepting donations to buy the smilies a new home.

The fuel tank SELECTOR is just below the instrument panel, left side,in front of the throttle quadrant. There is a fuel indicator on the 3 way gauge on the instrument panel which does not work.

The thing on the floor IS A FUEL GAUGE!! Read the flight manual!! This is the gauge which i am unsure about, whether it works or not.

Isn't that the oil temperature and oil/fuel pressure, not fuel level?.. nevermind..
Would be interesting to know how much left when warning light is on. Or find/fix the gauge.

On the floor!!! Have a look!! You can only see half of it because it is obscured by the rudder pedal. The engine starter is also down there on the right side but i cant remember if you can see this.

I know its a fuel gauge down there because i have worked on REAL P40's (both E & M versions) and have kicked that gauge many times!/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif If you have a copy of the flight manual it should show it in there.

I change the pic never saw it down there. Thanks but it still appears broken. I tried 25% 75% still same view.

I take it the tank is also under the pilot then and the gauge is like a float on a lawn mower tank or a small boat gas can?
