Is there anyway to enable hardware shaders with out a major performance hit? I really like the way enabling hardware shaders makes the game look but it just runs to slow for dogfighting. I tried lowering some other settings but it didnt seem to help much. Am i screwed or did i miss something??

Hmm - any system specs? - You running on VGA e.g http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

Meanwhile
Decrease the resolution.
Never put on anti aliasing.
Close ALL running applications (next to clock).
Scan for spybots/addbots using ad-aware or a simular program.
Check disk space.
Defragment disk.
Make your paging file 6GByte.
Get at least 1GByte RAM.

9700pro
1gb ram
amd 2400+ @2.6ghz

The game flys with hardware shaders off but once enabled the fps drops to ~ 25-30fps http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

eh... is that hi-up or down the deck over a city - that matters you know - also do not use the latest drivers for ati cards I think....

Dont use anti-alias / FFS I'd say and lower resolution...

But ya now said ATI so here come the flies hehehe (tip put (ATI) in the header (edit it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

Enabling the hardware shaders is a part of the perfect option. In the thread, Perfect Settings, PF_Coastie has a blend. You may want to give it a try.

"It is Much better than excellent, but not quite full perfect." - Coastie

Coastie's post applies to all cards that support the Perfect option. (Its not an ATI thing.)
