I don't think we would get an ejection seat unless it was flyable. i seem to remember seeing a cockpit fot it, you would need to check old updates to find out.

Thanks WUAF_Badsight

It's been a little while since I saw that list so I'd forgotten the He-162 was there under flyable.

Should be worth shelling out a few pounds for!
I'd pay JUST for the Spitfire personally. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Cool! I thought it would be AI only. That one should give a big boom if you can make it to the target; otherwise it'll give a big boom anyway but you might still be flying in it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The He162 could be an interesting bird to fly. Apart from the throttle there is the Jet Orifice Control to consider. It had four positions and has to be adjusted depending on what you are going to do: taxi, climb, powered dive, high speed flight etc.
Also, the throttle took 15 seconds to go from closed to open and it was easy to overheat the engine while taxiing. The landing flaps took ONE MINUTE to pump down http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif, that's going to make landing a little tricky.
I hope that this is all modelled, and if it is I can see a few folk needing that ejector seat while getting to grips with it all http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
All this info comes from 'Wings of the Luftwaffe' by Captain Eric Brown.
Cheers!

Didn't the He-162 have a nasty habit of breaking apart during flight aswell?

The first prototype crashed when the glue came unstuck, and a British test pilot was killed when the tail fell off during a roll. The tail assembly seems to be it's weakest point.
Cheers!

I really wish they would add more JU-88s, even if only non-flyable

There are other planes in game right now that had this habbit and it didn't get modeled it.

When flying the He-162 in AI enabled servers, I noticed that it sufferes from the same spontaneous detonation bug that plagued the P-40 in the early days of FB. I hope they fix it when they add the cockpit, otherwise it will be worthless.

The lower component of both training and operational Mistels was a Ju-88A-4 or, in case of the Fw-190 upper component we're supposed to get, mostly a Ju-88G-1. This was due to fuel considerations; the fuels of the 190 and Ju-88A-4 were not equal in octane and the G-1 used BMW engines.

You *can* sort of even fly it then, albeit on a one-way journey if equiped with the (really big!) warhead.

yes you get that shuddering then BOOM

is tricky to stop it & renders the HE-1622 useless

i havent a clue as to wether its accurate or not , but its going to make the HE-162 useless if thats how its going to perform

Oooh, we're getting the A6M2 ! That's going to be very nice for early-war Pacific. We already have the P-40s and Brewsters to "match up" (to use the term loosely) against it.

Go 229, no Soviet medium bombers and yet another Stuka? Pe2 would have been fun and was looking forward to Me110 as well.

It's an interesting list and plenty to look forward to, but a missed opportunity in some ways as there are some planes in there that had no real role to play in the war. History Channel anyone?
