The boomerang sure isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but it is something I would love to be able to fly. It is a lovely old bird.

I've been wondering the same thing.

Boomerang, Boomerang, Boomerang! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You'll have to forgive us Aussie's but it was our ownly home grown fighter. And fairly spritely under 15,000ft. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

But not good when P-38s flown by Yanks take a shot at one. True story this too. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/1072.gif

Absolutely Sopwith!

And the Yank who knocked one down was Gerald Johnson. He even had the hide to paint a small Aussie flag on his P-38! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Fortunately the Boomer pilot bailed out OK and Johnson did deliver a crate of beer by way of apology. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The P-38's would shoot at anything. There was a battle between a P-38 and a P-47 squadron, when the -38's mistook the Jugs for Zeros, and dived on them.

Then again, there is some debate as to whether that was really a case of mistaken identity; not many P-38 pilots were happy with the Thunderbolt encroaching on "their" territory.

I not only hope we see either of the 2 planes, but I'm thinking we'll get an Aussie dynamic campaign also, at least an RAAF fighter one.

Now that'd be something. Someone was working on the Boomer a way back, but I can't remember who. It was looking really good too.

Hopefully if we get a Boomerang, then the sound is modeled with the same whistle from the gunports that is on the real thing. (If you've seen one flying you'll know what I mean, sounds like a supercharger on steriods)

What goes up, always comes down........ IN FLAMES!

The Boomerang would be a great addition, but the Wirraway almost seems to be a necessity. It was a significantly important plane, that even scored a victory or two over Zeros when they were used as fighters.

My patriotic side has shed a tear at the possibility of flying these planes. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

But at the same time I can't help but laugh at this full-stop http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/34.gif.
