I personally would like to thank everyone who worked on this patch for caring enough to fix the bugs. Although FB was already an awesome game, they took the trouble to fix it up at no cost for us.

The patch has also made me a better pilot because I used to love the Bf109 for it's beasty engine, but now i know that since it doesnt have as good of an engine or as good turning, it made me better because now i can't do hair raising stunts, lose all of my airspeed and altitude, and then regain it all back in about 15 seconds.

Thank you, Oleg

Was it meant to be ironic?

Not ironic...the benefit of the patch is with the Bf. Possible to fight Las and yaks by going into turn-fights them now. The "new" MK 108 is as helpful as the 37mm-cannon of the yak t was before. The Bf is a now a real good choice. As German gamer it makes me happy to have a good "own" plane now /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif .

On the other hand I was fighting a bf the other day (in a Hurri) and he actually went into a TURN-fight with me! I couldn`t believe how long he managed to keep turning before I shot him down! I would have been well annoyed if he`d outturned the Hurri!

Many things have been improved greatly and the Bf is definitely more competitive with the VVS planes now. The FW has been improved also and can ALMOST T&B with the La's(not Yaks) now for a full turn or so before they need to break away.

...now if the Jug would just go a little faster, hmmm...

Yea but realism is what really counts. It's nice that the FM makes you a btter pilot because the 109s are harder to fly. Are they harder to fly because they indeed should be harder to fly? This is the most fundamental and important thing. Were they more realistic before?? I dunno...
I'd rather have realistic FM than FM that's just challenging for challenge's sake. That's the big question people should be asking. Right now, I'm asking myself that a lot in regards to the 262's FM. Have not tested the 109 and evaluated it yet.

I've been in a similar predicament but the bf stalled and never recovered and slamed to the ground.

The only problem being that I didn't get credit for the kill since I had not shot him.
