I downloaded a 'demo' WW1 flight sim and it deleted all my missions from the Battle for Britain pilot campaign.I had achieved over 20 missions with a 'not bad' score so I have to start again.

Is this unusual...should I avoid demo downloads?

Are you sure you didn't download it in the same folder as the Battle for Britain campaign, thus deleting it?

No offence, just a thought, done similar things myself not thinking...

I downloaded to my desktop but on opening found that I had lost all completed missions from the Battle for Britain pilot campaign. I have since been advised to be wary of demo downloads.
As yo can appreciate, a fair amount of time was spent getting to this level only to find that it has been deleted.

I find it highly unlikely that an unrelated flight sim demo would target your BoB campaign files and delete them.
Are you sure you are starting the game with the same profile you used when you started the campaign? Did you accidentally hit the "Delete" button instead of "Load"? Check through your IL-2 folders to really make sure there is no trace of it.

EDIT: Also, try starting another BoB campaign and reinstalling the demo to see if the demo was really the cause of the deletion.

This shouldn't be possible!

Thanks for the advice.

All BoverB files are still present.

When I tried to start the d/l demo I lost my wallpaper. I rebooted and all seemed ok until I tried BoverB.I found myself on the first mission!!

I've not found any other problems.
