...and loose 10-15 pounds!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

Seriously though... I hope they reinstate the ability to jump in and take control of the plane in the training tracks.

This will lower the learning time, if not the learning curve, for new players, as you can test a certain maneuver just after seeing how it's done, instead of trying to set up your own mission and forgetting about the maneuver in the process http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif. This will probably help from detering new players because they "don't know what to do". Besides, it's often very fun to just jump in and do some carrier landings, dive bombings, etc. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Never understood why they disabled that option in the first place, I guess the tracks work differently or something... but I sure would like it if you could take control yourself. And so would any new simmers.

Amen yello. That's a feature I missed.. *sniff*

On a more obscure note, I thiunk it's be cool (though probably impossible) to have a "take control" option for regular Tracks. (Obviously this would not work online) Which I think would make an amazing learning device. I.e. you're replaying a dogfight in which you were shot down. You pause the track just after the bogey gets on your 6, and after a few tries, manage to find the maneuver which gets him off your tail. It's at least moderatey possible to do in offline tracks, since the AI should (depending on how it's coded) be able to pick up right where it left off, if the situation's the same. Anyway, sorry to spam up your thread, it's just sort of a pipe dream of mine. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

But I agree with your original post entirely. There's no easy way to practice takeoffs now, except for building your own mission.

Later,
Ak

This topic sounded a lot more dirty than it turned out to be.
