why isn't there a Manchurian Campaign made for IL2, even if the USSR's Far Eastern campaign lasted for a few days? hmm, IL2s and LA-5s busting up Japanese defenses across the Amur or fighting Zeros over the Kurils look cool...

you should make one.

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge,
ye shall be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be measured
to you again.

Great idea. But what was the time frame for this theater? Wasn't it early? That would affect the planesets available.

It's the only thing!

Go for it!

If we're talking about the pre-war fighting on the Manchurian Border. There were no Zeroes. The A6M is a Navy fighter and it wasn't even in service then. The A6M we have now is a good substitute, however, and there are skins that turn SU-2s and IL-4s into Japanese bombers available at IL-2 Skins.

The Russains declared war on Japan right at the end of WWII as well. Why do you think Korea is in two parts? It sure wasn't the Koreans' idea.

Late war LAs and Yaks and Franks were there.

There are a jillion web sites on WWII history.

Use Google and you'll be amazed at what you can find.

As for maps, the maps were have can be anywhere you want them to be (if you ignore the Russkie names http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif) I've made lots of missions where the Crimea and Kuban make very suitable substitutes for early war Burma (Flying Tigers P- 40s and RAF Brewsters) New Guinea (P-40s, P-39s, HurriIIs, etc.).

One of the nice things about DCG is you can do all kinds of modifying and customizing of the plane sets without having to build a whole campaign. Once you get it set up as Burma, or whatever, it just keeps generating missions (of course the Japanese pilots all have German names).

A5M wasn't used either. It was used in China.

The Japanese Army Air Forces fought the VVS in Manchuria in '39 and in '45.
