I am buying a new laptop, and the Mac beauty attracts me greatly.

If there will be an IL-2 for mac, then I am gonna buy a Powerbook, otherwise, I still have to stick to IBM compatible puter...

Thanks for your time!

I would be quite surprised if FB was transferred to a Mac platform, but then again, nothing is impossible.

If I were you I would stick to PC's for the simple reason that they are easier to upgrade, but if you look around you might also notice that there are far less games available for Macs than for PC's.

AFAIK the only flight sim currently available for Macs is X-Planes.

So, unless someone knows of any plans to make a Mac version of FB, I would stick to PC's.

I am a Mac Man all the way but sims like IL-2/FB required me to buy a PC. I still use a Mac at work and consider Macs much faster and more reliable than any PC.

I flew WarBirds and Dawn of Aces for many years on my Mac. I finally burned out on them and moved on to IL-2/FB. But the flight models in WB are excellent and the graphics, while not up to FB standards, are very good. There is also a very strong and loyal community with lots of third-party skinners and excellent scripted missions.

Aces High may also have gone Mac, I'm not sure. It is a notch below WB.

But the simple answer is: No. FB isn't nd never will be available for Macs.

The stupidest thing Steve Jobs ever did (and he hasn't done many) was give no emphasis to games. Forget us grownups. Every kid wants to be able to play the "in" games and Apple was designed as a business and graphics company rather than entertainment. He missed a big market.

I, for one, would seriously consider buying a MAC, or at the very least, look into buying a MAC, if certain games were ported for MAC.

So YES, at least ONE consumer continues to use PC hardware and M$ OS because of the lack of interest by apple to encourage companies to port their software for the OSX platform

PC platform is not synonymous with Microsoft Windows anymore. I know ALOT of people that built their PCs to run on OS other than Windows.
