the seafire mkIIIc in this pic has one error in it. the canopy should have two bars connecting the canopy arch (shown in this pic) with the front armored windshield (not shown in this pic). in other words it should have the same cockpit as the mkIX model. the one u have right now is the mkV model of the cockpit.

This was most likely not a picture from a Seafire, just a plain ol' Spit to show off the water. I wouldn't get too excited about these little details just yet. Wait till you actually see a Seafire sitting on a carrier deck. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

no, its a seafire, because of the cannon barrel fairing. and the wing blister too.
its also been confirmed in the update that i got this pic from.

Do me a favor. Find a Spitfire in any game thats more accuratly modeled http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Then come back and thank me. I see your pleads to the CFS3 comunity to "fix" the CFS3 spit went unheard.

What'd they do to that CFS3 Spitfire?

the famous CFS3 spitfire fix gib talks of is the single post i wrote way back when.

it was more of a joke then anythign else i knew i wouldnt be fixed cause the Microsoft devs, dont give a **** about fixes. anyway the fix had to do with the mkIXe. instead of having the .50 cals firing out of the inside cannon port they had it configured so that the "50cal" was firing out of the .303 gun port, its halarious. they even left on teh texture for the 4 .303 gun ports. imagin if they made that big a mistke on the P51 or P47 people would be flippin out. ah CFS3, makes me laugh everytime i say its name.

There are many funny errors in CFS3. I did do a Spit Vb for a CFS3 add-on that is a LOT more accurate then the IX. Looks a lot better also. Lol. 14,000 polygons! Compaired to the 3500 in IL2.

Biggs, dont mean to slam your observations because I actually appriciate the fact that you know enough about this plane to identify this detail. I admit I do not.

Just venting a little frustration is all. I guess it would be nice to have this detail correct but I would take a sooner (on track) release date for this game with minor incorrect details any day. Also dont forget that these modelers pour allot of passion into their work, wouldnt hurt to word your comments to consider thhis, such as "I appriciate all the fine work, just wanted to bring a minor detail to your attention" or something like that.

Thanks

Nah, we like having a detail nut like Biggs when we're working on something. We just wish he had an on-off switch. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

im sorry that my words are taken the wrong way, ive always appreciated what the modelers have done for AEP.

People think that by pointing out small mistakes the release of the game will be pushed back. for one thing something as small as this wouldnt set them back, and two the reason i pointed this out was beacuse its somethign that easlily fixed. by no means am i asking anyone to move mountains. and i rarely post in the PF forums so how can i be an anoyance to anyone?

This whole "Shouldn't you be worried about something IMPORTANT?!" argument comes up every time somebody finds a mistake on a model.

If the modelers are happy to have their mistakes caught... Then why should anyone care? Better to catch it now than after the whole game is compiled. I'm glad that there are people watching out for this kind of thing. I welcome criticism that might fix a mistake I've made.

I think picture above was not posted in dev. updates like Seafire cockpit WIP picture, it's showing PF scenery, unfortunately from not finished Seafire cokpit. Bug report would be correct after you will see in dev. update WIP picture from Seafire cockpit with title: "PF Seafire cockpit".
Probably when this picture was taken, Luthier had Seafire external model but had not finished cockpit yet. So he probably used for FM testing cockpit from Spit Vb.
Yes it's nice that you have good knowledge about ww2 planes (spitfires and seafires especially), but in this case I think, the mising bar problem will be solved without reference to this "bug" report as soon as Seafire cockpit is finished ;-).

But while you bring it up, lets talk about relocating a few mountains.... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
