Maze Plates engraving

I've been searching around on the internet for a while and was wandering, does anyone have any idea on how to unlock the maze plate engraving for samurais? It says can be won in a tournament, its literally the vaguest thing I've ever heard. If anyone knows how to unlock this or has more information on how to, your response will be greatly appreciated.

Hm, I'm not entirely sure which engraving you're referring to - do you have a picture or source image of what it is? I can ask about it then.
