Hi all,

The beta testers and myself have just finished testing the new 1.20 version of IL2-MAT Manager. The new version includes something for VVS fans an extensive re-working of the VVS numbering options and you can now choose between four font types on all VVS aircraft including the YAK 9T and Hurricane II field mod model. In addition I have added new options to display extra 3 digit coding on USAAF P-47s and P-51s on all four squadrons in both white and black numbering sets, thanks to Simon (Extreme-One) who kindly produced the new squadron coding MAT and TGA files. I have included a new option to enable/disable display of what I believe to be a more historically correct reduced size hakencrosses on all Luftwaffe aircraft. It is now possible to display orignal or reduced size weathered or un-weathered hakencrosses. I have improved the Escuadrilla Azul option to display reduced size Escuadrilla Azul squadron emblems as an automatic part of selecting this option.

Special thanks to Extreme-One for the superb USAAF MAT and TGA files, Siegfrid for his work on the French language translation of the documentation file and download page which will be ready very soon, all the beta testers especially Luke97 for his excellent ideas and dedication to improving IL2-MAT Manager.

I hope that you enjoy using the new version, please read the enclosed documentation file for program and installation information.

Great stuff. But does this program hit your fps? Another question? Why is there an option to reduce the hackencross size, I mean is something wrong with the standard?

Good stuff, anyway.

No FPS hit whatsoever. It runs at startup and isn't called again until the next time you start Fb.

It may make FB take an extra couple of seconds to load.

Not to sound dumb or anything, but did you put the right IL-2 MAT MANAGER in the zip file ?

I get verison 1.1 when I click on it to start

got everything set the way the unzipper wants it, reunzipped it a few times then went in and unzipped it and told it where to go, all I got in the IL-2 MAT MANAGER folder is verison 1.1

which of course means I can't run it as I get a IO 32 ? error, game runs, but not your program

HARD_Sarge
p.s. been running the program from verison 1

HARD_Sarge

HI
not sure if I stated that right or if you can follow what I am asking

the two zip files unload where they are suppost to, but the IL2MAT that needs to be running on the task bar is verison 1.1 and gives a IO 32 error when I start the game (either from IL2MAT, or IL2 Mat Manager)

Hi Hard Sarge,

It is
IL2-MAT Manager that has been updated by the download, not IL2-MAT. I'm not sure what could be causing the IO error, please check your IL2-MAT configuration and let me know how you get on.

Hi all,

Suplimentary information,

I have also produced a seperate download which includes ALL of my MAT and TGA files as supplied to-date with IL2-MAT Manager versions 1.00, 1.01, 1.02, 1.10 and the current version 1.20.

This download is intended for those who might require just the MAT and TGA files as a seperate download.

You wil require IL2-MAT Manager version 1.20 to fully utilise these files.

Please install to your IL2-Sturmovik Forgotten Battles folder.

Warning: this download is large, about 15MB and is a self-extracting zip file.

All MAT and TGA file download link. (http://www.aces-artwork.co.uk/IL2-MAT_Manager_ALL_MAT_&_TGA_Files.exe)

Just installed IL2 MAT and MAT MGR. Not only doesn't it seem to display any of the settings I've selected, now when I finish a mission in a campaign and select "exit mission," the screen freezes up and I must pull the power cord to reboot the computer.

Any ideas what may be wrong? I've checked the paths in the MAT config, and they seem OK.

OK. Update...It works OK for any NEW campaigns I start, but locks up as stated above if I try to play any campaigns begun BEFORE installing MAT and MAT MGR.

Not smart enough to know why this happens, but the only loss is any old campaigns. I'll just delete my previous campaigns and start all new ones.

No biggie.

Hi all,

Despite my best efforts a small bug crept into IL2-MAT manager v1.20 concerning the display of weathered Balkencrosses I have sorted it with a very small download of MAT files.

Download patch (http://www.aces-artwork.co.uk/weathered_hakencross_fix_IL2-MAT_Manager_v1_20.exe)

This release of MAT Manager is driving me to distraction LOL http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif .

your web page has to be the most confusing web page ever to get a DL off

first right up the top it says v1.2 BUT is for an existing version ONLY

where is this previous version available from ?

and the read-me in the DL from Extreme ones link says its for updating an EXISTING version

im not knoking this program .... just would like to try it out

WUAF_Badsight
03-29-2004, 09:25 PM
ok i seen v1.01 full version to DL on that web page you gave a link to

you didnt say we needed that version first

Extreme one threw out a red herring there saying everything was in the first DL up the top

i install v1.01 first then update it entirely to v1.2 to have all your additions with this new DL

this will update the manager & the files that are used in-game

am i correct ?

i dont want to sound harsh at all but explaining this to begin with would have been helpfull

WUAF_Badsight

G A W D installing this program isnt made any eaiser than DLing it in the first place

its not done very user freindly at all

WUAF_Badsight
03-29-2004, 10:52 PM
ok to new DLers , after the DL is finished open the read-me & install following from 4.0 onwards

you should be fine

WUAF_Badsight,

I thought my web page was clear enough when it says:

"IL2-MAT Manager v1.20 Update

(Note: IL2-MAT Manager v1.00 or later required see below for my latest stand-alone full install version)

The key terms here being "Update" and "Full install version"

And you don't have to scroll much further down to find:

"IL2-MAT Manager v1.0.1"

Reading the documentation is allways a good idea before installing anything http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif and the documentation included in v1.20 gives full installation instructions as well as confirming the fact that it is an update to version 1.00, 1.01, 1.02 or 1.10.

Don't worry m8, if you find this confusing then you won't have to worry about any future versions because their aren't going to be any. I'm sick and tired of all of this crap.

That shouldn't be too confusing to follow should it.

if it was easy to install id say it was

it isnt

the read me says install the manger first

then tells you how to install the MAT

wtf ?

unless you paid real close attention you miss where it says beforehand to put the Mat & Manager into your FB folder

doing all that it still wouldnt work

that is not a stright foward download or well laid out read-me

if it was id say it was

Hi Simon,

I've put everything on hold for the time being m8. I really need a bit of a break, been getting very tired lately. I've put a notice on my homepage explaining my reasoning and will think more on this in the future. For the time being I've put my website on "autopilot" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

Well I do understand.

You'll be feeling a bit like me I expect - it's about time we got something out of this game - right?

I'm really struggling to tear myself away from actually playing the game at the moment - but I have all these amazing campaign ideas running around my brain and I keep putting them off.

Hi m8,

Yes that's about it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif, I've got to the stage recently where I hardly have the time or will to fly anymore http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif. I have allways thought that IL2/FB etc. was a superb product and likewise have allways loved flight sims ever since my first wired framed, 16 colour "Flight Sim" on a Sinclair Spectrum http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif many years ago now.

I love to experiment and get a real kick from my MAT stuff especially as I couldn't stand the eyesore of the historical innacuracies in many of the default markings. I've only ever sought to try and use whatever dubious "talents" that I may have to improve the look of things for others and myself and broadly speaking I've enjoyed it but there comes a limit to all things.

All the best
