I'm not sure if this is the right place to make suggestions for the development team of the BoB game. But here goes...

It's basically a suggestion regarding the speed bar. As it is going to be the Battle of Britain will you be using British aeronautical measurements?

By this I mean.

Altitude/height = feet (ft).
Distance = nautical miles (nm).
Airspeed = knots.

Also weather. Given that the weather is so unpredictable in the UK, will the weather models be more complex? I'm thinking that they could cause iceing effects to the engine and airframe when the aircraft is flown through cloud, fog or rain. Also windsheer and turbulance etc would be a nice touch.

Voicepacks.

It sounds obvious, but you never know....

A convincing British voice pack (ie no American accents), with convincing RAF radiotelephony and slang.

Any thoughts on all this?

Weather apparently will be more complex.

I hope that whatever "speedbar" system is used that they allow options (I still want metric but I'd be happy to see others customize).

Re- the voicepack.

Here is a lovely example of an R/T exchange from the BoB between the controller and a pilot. It is paraphrased from Geoffrey Wellum's 'First Light'

Controller - Gannic leader, this is Sapper. One hundred and fifty plus approaching Dungeness at angels twelve. Vector 210. Over.
Gannic Leader - Sapper, this is Gannic, message received and understood.
C - Gannic, bandits include many snappers. I say again, many snappers, keep a good lookout. Over.
GL - Sapper, this is Gannic. OK understood. I am steering 120 and climbing hard through angels seven. Over.
C - Gannic, this is Sapper, you are very close now.
GL - Sapper, this is Gannic. OK. Tally-ho! Tally-ho! I can see them. They are at least angels one five and what's more there are hundreds of the sods.

i bet it looks like the fb engine with minor tweaks, higher poly ground items and aircraft.

Hopefully they at least get rid of the syth sound engine

Clouds could use a bit more,such as when you fly out of them a streek of it comes out of it with your plane,as with smokestacks and fog. and if there's going to be a Dover map,with seeing as its BoB there should,they'd better not forget the White cliffs http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
