Could some of you that are hosting servers write in the following lines into the server config.ini so that us using UDPSpeed can use and test it online ..pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee. This is a really nice program and works great offline...but it would be nice to be able to use online too. line should read:

[DeviceLink]
port=21100
IPS=127.0.0.1
host=127.0.0.1

thanks so much in advance.

Bump.

I would especially like to see open-cockpit servers allow this.

DeviceLink and UDPSpeed did away with the stupid 'realism' arguments. I don't even want to see a cockpit now because I can put my guages on another monitor.

What i like is that I can see my climb angle and Energy state alot easier than trying to look in the pit at dark hard to see gauges. As well as exactly how much fuel I have remaining. Baldie...what other tricks have you found to use with DeviceLink and UDPSpeed?

The latest version allows you to put multiple needles on a guage (up to 50!). So, I'm working on make a guage panel with all the important guages on a single 800x600 screen so it can be displayed on another monitor.

I also made an indicator that looks like a toggle switch. When the tail-wheel is locked, the toggle switch is in the "on" position. Its pretty neat http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm hoping the next patch allows us to get the state of more settings (EDITED THIS cause you can get radiator settings.. duh) so I can create indicators for them.

I don't know who wrote devicelink, but i sure wish I did. I've got a couple of really cool ideas for it. Maybe its time I started learning opengl.

Oops. I meant UDPSpeed. I wish I knew who wrote it so I could request a few modifications.

So could someone post a link (pls make a page http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif about this stuff??)

So WHAT do ya need? only those lines?
And what does it do with AI ????

And on an afterthought... hmmm this could be called cheating...

Suppose you make a computer "fly by the numbers" or program complex manouvres on a key .... hmmmm but it sounds like FUN

it has nothing to do with AI.

http://www.barans.ru/upload/alezz/UDPSpeed/UDPSpeed.zip

I think thats the latest version.

Diablo: I'm working on a test server now. What you think of these settings?

Cockpit optional.
Devicelink enabled.
Friendly-only icons (player name only).
Padlock on.
Everything else set for full difficulty.

I think it would be a hoot, but i'm abnormal.

Cool stuff.

I've a question on about AI planes: Can you fly them only from external view, or can they be flown from cockpit-off view (with crosshair)?

If they can be flown from cockpit-off view, I'll never complain about them again.

AI planes can only be flown online or in a create server environment - make em with FMB then add-in later the AI planes... in the mis file under [BornPlace0] ...[BornPlaceN] header where N is last-1 base you place on map...
like

[BornPlace2]
La5FN
Pe-8

would be ... ONLY the La5FN and Pe-8 flyable from the 3rd airfield (HomeBase in FMB) you placed on the map in FMB

And you can ONLY fly external http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

So these dials dont work online?

They work when the server allows them.

Hrm. Maybe it only works for dedicated servers?

I dunno. I'm exploring the issue now.

yup exploring myself now http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

it gives dials (the most important ones - in russian) as an overlay over your screen (@least here it does)

lol so it didn't work when i hosted
i first ran the udpspeed thingy then (a lot later i started FB hosting on ubi with the lines @ the top added - didn't work)

Try joining this server:

63.93.158.169:22

The port may or may not be blocked. I dont recal and i'm too busy with other stuff to log into the pix.

If you can connect, see if udpspeed will work for you.

So if those lines need to be added to the server conf.ini what do the clients need to have in their conf.ini and their udpseed.ini?

We tried this once but didn't get it to work. Thanks in advance.

I know the client adds those lines in the config.ini. From what all I read it seemed the server added the same lines. I'm not sure tho. Baldie?? is that right?? It works great offline that I know.
