View Full Version : P-47 graphic errors?

I was just wondering why the prop as seen from inside the cockpit of the P-47 looks so small.

I guess it's possible that it's just a quirk of perspective, but, it does reach well above the canopy line. The P-39 looks better in this regard I think.

Also, the outboard guns should be flush mounted along the leading edge of the wing. In FB they protrude a little. It just looks really odd.

Any chance we could have these fixed along with the non-functional gauges, non-controllable (and apparently non-functional) waste gate, and D-27 roll?

I got an email today that offers to make your prop bigger...

Hey, that rumour about my prop is also a question of perspective... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

How would that explain the P-39?

And besides, we all know that refraction isn't modeled anyway. 190, anyone? lol /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

"Also, the outboard guns should be flush mounted along the leading edge of the wing. In FB they protrude a little. It just looks really odd."

In theory, yeah, they were supposed to be flush. But to properly headspace a frequently-used M2 .50, you usually end up scooting the barrel forwards bit by bit. So after a few months of combat and a few thousand rounds, they tend to 'crawl' out the front of the wing...

Stenciled on the side of my Dora:

"Lasst das H√¬∂llentor √¬∂ffen, es friert hier oben!"
("Leave the gates to Hell open, it's FREEZING up here!")
