Don't forget the western dessert!
Seriously though: Oleg and his team has got their hands full at the moment clearing bugs in AEP and working on BoB. Anything new will have to come from 3rd party modellers.
I hope and pray we will soon have a north Africa map, I know someone's allready working on it, but of course it takes time, why don't you lend them a hand?

Map making tools are in-house only. Based on some technology they don't want to share at the moment.

So they have to be done by someone official. It'd be great to have the Rhineland region so we can do the second part of the invasion of Germany either that or a full scale, full size Ardennes map.

From SimHQs interview with Luthier he makes it pretty clear that the mapping tools are a bit of a bear to use. Had to keep asking Maddox for info on how things were supposed to work. Probably they just don't want people endlessly pestering them for help on it.

That said, the Op Flashpoint community has managed to make maps off their own initiative that seem far more complicated than Il-2s maps without a great deal of obvious developer input .. maybe just easier to figure out. Who knows..
