Sorry if i misspeled word or wrote them wrong in the following post.

I know the full name is the Battle of Brittian. So why are poeple so exited about it, does it got some kind of different game engine that makes it uniqe or what uniqe uniq features does it got that separates it for the Il-2. I mean Il-2 has a lot of planes and its the most awesome simulation that i ever played. And people get exited because in the lates developmetn update the BoB Bf-109 is developing, but Il-2 has like 20 Bf-109's. Or is it has the same graphics and game engine, only that action takes place over britian. But then its doesn't really mater when you flying over Smolenks or Normandy or Britian just the same green ground dvided by rivers. And it will be the same dogfights or fighter vs bombers, that mission makers could easily do, its just they'll have to make you beleive that you not flying over smolens but its Britian. Or is it some kind of expansion, but then why new models of panes are there. And is it out yet because i remember seeing in store that there was a game called Battle of Britian or something like that, and is this game developed by Oleg and UbiSoft. Please someone explain because maybe i'm missing out on some awesome game or maybe not.

Only in the spirit of attack, born in a brave heart, will bring success to any fighter aircraft, no matter how highly developed it may be.

BoB is 1C:Maddox's next sim, due out in 2005 but it will probably be two weeks later than that. It will use a completely new game engine which will be the starting point for a whole series of expansions and new theatres of war.
Mediterranean anyone?
Cheers!

Oh that's why they releasing Pacific Fighter or whaever in Fall so they could be done with Il-2 theater of operation so they could say that Il-2 every theater was done, but why people get exiting what new featers and planes they making for BoB don't have any differnece in them then Il-2 planes.

I wouldn't say the only desire is to say, "Il2 is all done".

They could do that without making Pacific Fighters, quite easily http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Maybe PF is a chance to stay connected with the large fan base of Il*2?

Also, the folks who make Il*2 aren't your 'usual' game developers. they really want to make a quality product and the are fans of this stuff, just like us. In addition, they are actually allowed to develop and expand the game. that's pretty rare, you usually get the enthusiasm part, but that doesn't last very long in most cases, and dev turnover rate is high in my experience. Not so with Maddox games, it seems. They can actually follow through.

This is a silly question to begin with.

Why has anyone bothered making any new simulation on of a similar subject since the original Battle of Britain or SWOTL?

Improved graphics, gameplay, flight model fidelity and technology showcasing... and TO MAKE MONEY.

They should have made the Med, rather than BoB for the next game. BoB has been done OVER and OVER and OVER. The Med includes all the goodies of BoB and then some - then again, maybe that's why they didn't do the Med...

Actually, I'm with you 100%.. they could have done for the Med what IL2 did for the ETO.

They had to do BoB before The Meds because BoB is very limited in both time and space...a few months over one part of Europe--granted there will be France and Polish addons either Patch or CD.

* Oleg will be modding radar and hopefully ground observers along with ground control intercept for both Player and AI (hopefully). From reading Oleg at sinhq, BoB is just a first experiment for simulating the entire World War 2 air warfare all over the Earth. BoB as a "simple" subject is the natural place to start--including new ship simulations as there was a Channel between the Germans and Brits.

Yeah right on Luthor.

We've been told that Battle of Britain is a starting point (and a great one!) for a launch into a series of WWII combat games that will head to the Med after...Oleg said that the Med would be after 100%.
