I had my TrackIR for almost a year before I started using it with Il-2/FB. Really, I am so used to, and adept with using the hat for views that using the TrackIR for the same was too much effort, since it really does take some getting used to.

Well, a few months ago I just bit the bullet and decided to give it another go. Actually, Lomac was the driving force, and really, TrackIR and Lomac should come bundled!

Well, now I am really kicking myself in the butt for not using my TrackIR all this time I could/should have been using it.

I guess one of the other reasons I never really got into my TrackIR was the fact that it liked my cigs more than TrackIR likes the 'dot'. Well, now that I'm not allowed to smoke IN MY OWN FRIGGIN HOUSE anymore, the TrackIR has really become much more usefull!

TrackIR does suck in the winter time though.

Give it a week, you will absolutely love it!!

Airmikey

Ps. If you don't love it ..ask for some help with the settings ( not that it is particularly difficult or anything..)

Congrats. Like AIRMIKEY said, give it a week. It feels disorienting for a little while and it also takes awhile to get used to keeping your head still without getting a stiff neck but it's a must. Still like to use mouse view with the left hand sometimes though. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Why are you keeping your head still? You should be looking around ALL the time!

I think I might upgrade to TrackIR 2 today, but I haven't quite made my mind up yet.

Xnomad,

Do it. I hesitated for some time also. There is a noticable difference. It is better; smoother, less sticking/stuttering. You can literally whip your head around as you would in RL. The 80% increase in fps does help

LOL mine showed up 2 days ago...Kicking myself for not jumping on the wagon sooner!! INCREDIBLE is all I can say, takes abit to get used to but you'll want to fly with the cockpit on in all the "no-cockpit" servers.hehehe
