I'll also go door to door begging my neighbors to buy it. Don't have first born sons to offer, but I'll negotiate.

In doing maps, don't forget the India, China, Japan circuit. It's a long way back to India from Japan, but there are interesting things along the way.

I with you, Snuffy! I do not have any sons to offer to the alter either, although my neighbor has a cat. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I know that for some, it's very difficult to imagine any fun in flying a heavy bomber mission. Maintain formation, navigate, repeat for endless hours. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif Then keep flying and navigating... and don't forget to watch for enemy fighters, repeat again. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/53.gif Then fly, navigate, fight off the pesky enemy fighters, adjust the bombsite... almost simultaneously http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif Reverse order once the bombs are gone.

Thing is that for us weirdos, the B29 is one of (and in my own opinion, IS THE) ultimate expressions of heavy bombers. Much as for the dogfighters, the *insert favorite here* is your dream machine, so be the mighty 29 for the heavy bomber types. The TB3 can only appeal for so long.

I don't know if the flyable B-29 will make it. Prior posts have said not due to complexity. If this is the case, I can only hope that it MIGHT be considered for a future expansion.

BTW - Thanks Droopsnoot for the outstanding info on this bird.

Some people like level bombing, some people like dive bombing, others like skip bombing, and there are those just hate bombing. Us, we like CARPET BOMBING! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

forget the flyable b29 just have flyable P-47-N for pacific. and the late model corsair F4U4 i believe it is. and alot of 2 engine fighter bombers.

B-29s although real nice will play no part in online fun. its a seriously long range very high altitude bomber. they used to fly missions of over 12 hours !!!!

nice plane but not needed as flyable. other planes take precedence. like flyable B-25 RAIDS on shipping etc. and jap bombers attacking our forces...

b29 although i love it should be the very last thing they make flyable since your not going to drop bombs from them at low altitude

I dunno, Red. In 'The Mighty Eighth', I took a perverse pleasure in low level bombing and strafing runs on a variety of targets. Not the most realistic employment of a B-17, but fun nonetheless. I would often wish back in those days that I could model high-drag Mk82 snake-eyes to carry, so I could get lower during the bomb runs. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

Notice I didn't mention whether or not I made it out alive from those runs. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

However I wont like the idea of someone using one at MP, specially if I`m taxing, he got high ceiling and is heading the airbase.

But will be cool anyway if we have some Raidens climbing.

Hmmm...wouldn't do much, why not send him a personal Cheque for the same ammount?

99x US $40,- (?)

With the agreement that this money should be invested in B-29 work.

$4000-5000,- will go a long way to make an interior.

Missions averaged over 15 hours not over 12.

What do you call low altitude? would you say 50 feet? the Shiminoseki straits were mined by B29's at night at or near that minimum altitude

Also, one type mission I was briefed on was at 500 feet or less if we had had to invade Japan. As I understand it the campaign is dynamic so I may need to fly that mission yet! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

NightFire Bombing missions were flown at 5,000 to 7,000 feet.

B29's could play a part in on=line fum. Don't forget the whole purpose of the Island hopping campaign was to get bases for the B-29's to bomb the home islands of Japan from.

I have an answer to the long missions on line problem, which I will submit to the developers if they decide to have flyable B29s, or if they have decided not to have flyable B29s because of that problem.

In my opinion, B29s could make PF a classic combat simulation. Look how long B17 II has lasted. Even with its warts due to having been marketed before it was completed, it is still a popular game after over three years on the market..

if adding the B29 as flyable delays the game six months its not worth it no way. if it doesnt hinder release or take the place of fighter planes go for it. otherwise its coming as AI already so youll be able to fly it already just not from in cockpit view.

b29 wouldnt be viable in dogfight servers. maybe in coops or offline but im not waiting an extra 6 months for something that is a fringe plane considering we have ZERO flyable american 2 engine bombers.

while the b-29 may not fit in in dogfight servers, i think it would be a blast in single player and coop. Ive seen things on tv about short airfields (relatively) that the b-29s had to take off on, and are just barely able to get off the ground. Other accounts of the trip home having to land on short uneven airfields. Sounds like a challenge. ive always loved the large heavy planes.

Since its highly unlikely that the folks working on it are supposed to be doing something else at this fairly far along point in PF development, having a flyable SuperFort makes all us bomber types happy and creates no delays in PF's release.

I don't want PF delayed a single day either, but, just like the B-25's for AEP, if the 29's come along at release, or after, great. I feel relatively confident that Luthier knows we all want PF yesterday.
