wouldnt it be a nice feature to have plane falures implemented into il2? such as a he-162 engine or wing failure, or engine fires in some bombers. in some cases the reliability of the plane made the difference between a good plane or bad. it could be a realism setting and only really apply to some planes.

great idea....
but i think itll be kinda hard to simulate.
also, i think that the failures should do only minor damage to the plane, like making a MG unusable, and not destructive like not being able to use ailerons.

well i mean realistic failures to things that really stopped working in certain planes. and i think lo-mac has something like this where u can set the probability an engine will fail and things like that.

User definable instrument or gun failures might be nice. It could add challenging elements to SP missions.

But random catastrophic failures would suck. Like you said, there would be no way to make them realistic (unless you were to exhaustively study all the accident and maintanence records in WWII).

Then on the second day, it was made bug free, and He saw that it was good.

Try moving the throttle too quickly on the Me262 or ignoring propellor pitch settings while flying the 109-E series. You'll quickly see failures under those circumstances.

I agree on other aspects though, it would be nice to see penalties for extremely high G manouvres or (for damaged aircraft) moderately high G.
