A great work, really fantastic!

MC 202 will be very similar, with some different guages and a different gunsight.

Si!

What I Like about the cockpit is the 3 dimensial apeareance it has a lot of virtual cockpits still look 2 dimensional in FB.

I look forward to fly this Veltro,
Any news about a Italian Soundpack.
Or will we have to wait untill (I hope I will see the day)a Proper Medeteranian N-Africa will arive!

Grazie,

hi,
what a shame..
a fantastic design work to export into a old faulty 'camera view system to virtual pilots forward view'(no update since first demo ofIL-2) .. far away from a ...let's say a conform view in pilots height of eyes view than this incorrect 'gnomish view 'in the running game.

hmm.. and no success in game's engine camera view system in coming PF too..

I can't figure out what the Newbie just said. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Awsum pit Veltro.

Will gunisght view work? In I~185 there is no moving head for gunsight view, and I am always using that head movement to see around canopy struts in all other planes (except now TB~3 has gunsight view disabled too and maybe He~111 but I don't know that).

Thanks.

Sorry, when i say "as I-185" i say only that our modellers have used that cockpit as ex. for a new design tecnology. The I-185 is more advanced than our C202-C205.

So NP with Shift-F1.

We would like have the same quality in C200 Saetta cockpit: model by Radek (absolutely one the best in FB, for sure) with this kinde of cockpit......and we'll have really a work of art.

We have completed also this model by Radek: DM, lods ecc. ecc.. We need only textures for the cockpit.

Love the cockpit, this will probably be the first time I'll actually be interested in Italian planes.

And one thing that I've always wondered with them - what is that emblem on the left side that looks like a battleaxe... or something. What does it signify???

Ivank
06-03-2004, 10:06 PM
I think its the coat of arms of the house of Savoy

pdog1
06-04-2004, 02:51 AM
the blue circle battle axe is the fascist symbol.. i think its supposed to represent the old roman empire or something im not sure i forgot, someone else who knows will say for sure

the house of savoy is in the middle of the white cross on the tail of italian planes, but not all, german planes in italian service like me109 and ju87 for the most part, lacked both of these insignia.

Right pdog, the axe is a "Fascio Littorio" from roman empire.

IIRC this is the symbol of "Fascism" as pdog1 and Veltro said. I did't know its history went back to the Roman Empire though.

What I've heard is that it symbolizes "Power in Unity" as an axe made up by many "fasci", it can't be easily broken on impact. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
(the subsconscious message comes to mind: "unite behind the leader (axe) and we're unstoppable")

http://www.harunyahya.com/fascism1.php

If you look the image up closely you'll see it's made up from many smaller rods (fasci).

Actually, it represented the power of the state to punish (whipping with rods) and the power to execute (the axe, decapitation, i/e "Capital" punishment was the preferred Roman method of execution in Republican times).

About "fascium":

Roman legions used to carry these symbols along with 'S.P.Q.R' eagles and other signals. It represented the union of people -the branches- and law -the axe. 'S.P.Q.R.' meant 'The people and the Senate of Rome'.

It's known that after German leader Arminius slaughtering general Varus' Romans in the Teutoburg woods, August used to complain: "Quintilius Varus, give back my eagles and 'fascii'!"

Thak SM 79 cockpits is by DUX, but now he's working on MC 200 cockpit.
The problem as you know, is that for a bomber you need a lot of cockpits; for this model we need at least 6 cockpits.

For me would be a dream have SM 79 fliable, for sure the best WW2 torpedo-bomber.....but we can only hope for the future.
For sure, now Harti is working on SM79.
