I was flying Extreme_One's BoB campaign and i'm yet to get past mission fourhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif Firstly I hit a lookout tower on the end of mission three. It loomed up into view out of nowhere when I was rolling of the runway and there was nothing I could do, so I restarted the campaign. Then I had just got up to the point where the last event happened and started mission four when I forgot I had a wingman and ran right into the back of his aircraft on takeoffhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/51.gif So i'm back at the start again! Yes if I had been concentrating more this would not have happened, but still.

We need a view that gives better visibility over the nose of aircraft. Either by opening the canopy and having a view that looks down the side, or a raised view from inside the cockpit. Secondly we need a "look down" view from the cockpit for navigating. I know its easy enough to tilt the wings but i'm sure in RL pilots pushed their head against the side of the cockpit to get a better view down. Both views could be accesible like the view we currently have that moves the pilot closer to the reticle (Shift F1 or something).

I doubt we will see this in FB, but atleast in PF or BoB please.

when nr two on the runway just hold the brakes give full rudder and apply a bit of power and you will turn the AC a bit on the ground. That will be enough for you to see what u have infront of you... as for the view while airborn... hm cant help you with that... good luck!

There is going to be a "raise seat view" in PF.

Excellent, cheers for the info mate. Does this mean that since FB and PF are compatible, we will get this view for FB aircraft as well?

AFAIK the only seats that would be realistically raised in flight should be the ones of the American carrier-based planes (the pilots used to raise their seat to improve visibility during final approach and landing).

So I think the option will probably be limited to USN planes.

Hmm, I can think of several exploits for this already. You can just use the raised view or the outside cockpit view and mark on your monitor where the bullets hit... a wonder woman view for full real servers. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

If this is really goin to be in PF, I hope Oleg took some measures to make sure it's only used as intended.

I agree completley, this could easily turn into a "wonder woman" view if its not implimented properly. Some kind of restriction on this new view is crucial, for example weapons could be made unavalible when in this view (harsh but it would stop "cheating").

Despite the possible problems, I still think it really needs to be made avaliable (and i'm glad it will be in PFhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif), the visibility on the ground in some aircraft is almost impossible without changing the FOV, going external or "zigzagging" with the rudder. Many aircraft in RL did have poor visibility on the ground, but we shouldn't have to resort to unrealistic measures just to see where we're going, nor should we have to taxi half blind hoping we dont hit anything.
