some of the flight attitudes and trajectories are ridiculous. You're on someone's tail, and they do an impossible angle and shoot up 500 feet in a second. It takes all the fun out. How can I avoid this problem?

Make sure ingame to press escape and set network settings to whatever you got (me its Cable). If you launch with HyperLobby theres a bug where it starts you with 56k connection transfer rates (sloooooooooow).

Were you just on the Blazing-Magnums server?

The warping is caused by other players' crappy internet connections. Nothing you can do about it aside from joining a server with really strict network "ping" settings like Slammin's on HL.

Not a bug. The games works better if everyone is using the same speed setting (LOTS of tests have confirmed this). Hyperlobby defaults everyone to 56k because it's very rare that there isn't at least one dialup participant in each server. I use cable but leave Hyperlobby set to start at 56k coz I see LESS warp that way (unless someone has overidden the settings and is hogging server bandwidth).
