I sarted playing online 25/6/03. I was told that (S!) means Solute. I use (S!) to Solute a supurer officer. I also thought it was polite to use (S!) when you get shot down and when you shoot someone els down.

There was a thread that mentioned that (S!) means (im an idiot) or (f####).

My quetion is do I use (S!) in game or would that be insulting other players?

Thanks

Silent out..

Saluting your opponent is just a sign of respect for good kill, good shot...good fight...etc. I always use it after encouter, no matter what outcome.. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Most people do it out of respect to another pilot. It just means "salute". Nothing more, nothing less. It doesn't matter what you do, especially around here, someone will eventually read more into it than you actually mean. When asked why she she had a tattoo on her butt, Cher told Jay Leno "I knew that people would shoot (accusations/insults) at me no matter what I did. I figured that the best thing to do was to paint a target on my azz, and stick it out there . . ." Follow your heart, Mate. If you mean well, then it doesn't matter what anyone thinks.

Only use it after a GOOD 1 minute battle duel,( 1 x 1 - or pair duels 2 x 2- ) with the enemy where you almost `feel` you and he `understand` eachother! The real fighters know what I mean /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif .

Never when enemy`s just landing, just taking off, surprised, outnumbered, or sitting on the runway flossing his teeth, otherwise it becomes an insult and you`ll probably be insulted back.

Not an insult at all. If someone told you that or assumed you were insulting them, then they probably didnt know what it meant. Coming into a game, leaving a game, entering chatroom, leaving chatroom, after you kill a plane or get killed. S! or S~all. When addressing a room of people and S! or S~ to salute a pilot. I personally dont salute kills or when I'm killed. I will salute the room upon entering or exiting. If someone is offended by it just keep killing them lol. Welcome to FB!
