I fly wonderwoman view alot because I like the rock steady feel the the non moving crosshair gives me.When I go into the cockpit I get disorientated by the weird movement of the cockpit.Bank left and it yaws right and throws me off no matter how much I try to block it out.Its alot worse in some planes than others.

Just wanted to know if its possible Oleg to lock the cockpit side to side movemnet wghen banking.I love the turbulence effect and the vertical g effect but just cant stand the way it throws me off when banking.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Rubbish. There`s nothing wrong with the headshake. I don`t even notice it any more. If you want disable it, it`s in the options.

I don't notice it either. Not to flame you, but you really should get used to it. Flying cockpit on is to add realism, and so is head shakes. They go hand in hand, if you're gonna dismiss the head shakes then why not just keep playing with wonder woman view? Each person has their own style of flying, which I respect. But if you're flying on a cockpit only server, its there for realism, not just for the pretty cockpits.

this is what I said in my post http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=63110913&m=167104352

Is this what called "head shake" which there's an option in realism menu? If my memory's correct, switching that off won't cut off the movement... I have to check it out again..

I think the whole idea of having cockpit view is to give realism. They are beautifully modelled and the movements caused by turbulence, headshake etc., just add to this.
They are not really that distracting, just immersive IMO

sure... wonder woman view is easier http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif i used this alot, but if you want to fly with cocpit on full real hosts, you have to learn how to fly with all options switch to "on"
I know this is hard, yesterday i was flown my first VEF mission http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif and of course i was killed http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif but i will learn this way of flying because we are looking for realism of flight, right?
if you do not looking for this ... so, solution is simply: play only on host with wonder woman view, or loking for no head shake hosts.....
that's all

I love cockpit view...I keep wonder women on for SP sometimes to check how fast I'm going with the alternate speed numbers (TAS or IAS I can never remember) but I fly and fight inside the cockpit. I love that view...even on FW's http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Try Shift+F1
Should lock the gunsight

Thanks for the input guys but I think you mistook me here.I said I like the turbulence effect but not the way the cockpit swings left to right when you bank.

Its defenitly not shift/F1.

Strange as I se gunsight movement in most planes untill i use shift+f1 it centres the gunsight and stops the view from swinging.

Otherwise i aint got a clue what you mean.

gunsight toggled the reticule still moves too much inside the revi.My opinion and thats how I feel:)

I have decided to just keep with the non-cockpit view since I really get a better feel of flight and thats why I play.I would love for Oleg to give us the choice of arrows on and off in no cockpit view. And would really love for him to allow us to get an altimeter, speed, temp and bullet gauge from the plane your riding in and put on bottom of screen.Smaller so it fits in better:)

I agree you get a better feel of flying with the cockpit off. If you're a bird.

A human flying a plane needs to be in the cockpit.

I know what you mean. When the cockpit is on, you see a virtual representation of a cockpit. This is a sim of flight, so I can't see how the simulated movement is bugging you...that's what happens. Happens in a car, too. The missing element that you are finding 'wrong' is the lack of 'seat of the pants feel'. Sorry, but I don't think this will be changed.

"Cant" "get" "point" "across"....In best Capt Kirk impersonation.:)

When you bank and pull back on stick the crosshair moves into the corner of the thing it should be centered in.

We know what you mean, but you can still see the crosshair. It's not a big deal.

This is a weird complaint from Boohaa. What he`s whining about seems so light that noone else can really see it. It`s not the Headshake apparently, it`s not the Shift+F1...Weird....

Just enjoy the sim.

Take a deep breath and stop being so dramatic. You are obviously dsecribing the 'Head Shake' feature.

Before you post another slick comment, do yourself a favor and go into your Difficulty settings. Find the 'Head Shake' setting and make sure the light is OFF (toggle is pointing to the right). This means that Head Shake is disabled.

Now jump into a plane and pull back on the stick. You'll see that the crosshair does NOT, as you say, "... moves into the corner of the thing it should be centered in."

Case closed. Your welcome.

I guess to each is own. I actually like the headshake...pulling back on the stick actually feels like you're pulling back on the stick. But thats just me :D

Yes, I know. You misunderstood me.
The sim gives you, as the pilot, a slight but perceptable change in view angle when you bank. The crosshairs move on the gunsight because in real life, if your head were to move slightly, then you would see the crosshairs at a different point on the gunsight glass. This is because of the operation of the gunsight. It is not simply an image of a crosshair painted on a pane of glass. The image you see on the glass is generated from a light source behind the sight. So, if your virtual 'head' moves in flight manuevers, as it does in a bank, the gunsight crosshairs seem to move to the side and then a corner of the gunsight. Like I said, this seems unusual to you because you are missing the effects of centrifigal- and g-forces on your body. I do not think this will be changed in FB.

Yes, this is the problem and when I use TrackIR the headshake feature becomes wired - maybe because I can move my head that I wouln't maybe easily be able due to physical effect in reallife. well anyway I also now confirmed that what's annoying me was this headshake and I'm happy that I can disable it till I'd feel natural with it.
