View Full Version : A bit more Egypt hype: Jean-Pierre Houdin's 'internal ramp theory'

Check out this Nat.Geo. documentary for an exciting new theory (very well supported empirically) as to how the Great Pyramid may have been built:

https://youtu.be/d83mn1yxCHc

It's not one of those wacko theories; the idea is basically that there's a spiral internal ramp inside the Great Pyramid, and that's how workers were able to carry the huge limestone blocks to the top. The theory also has a great deal to say about the design of the huge 'gallery' inside the Pyramid, and how it fits into the internal ramp model.

So ... I think it would be amazing if the designers of ACO paid homage to this theory in the game, and we get to walk inside the internal ramp!

The person who came up with the idea is a French architect by the name of Jean-Pierre Houdin, and he's been sponsored by a French 3D modeling company; using their software, Houdin crafted a complete simulation of the construction of the Pyramid. Well, ubisoft is a French company, and I hope someone's been paying attention to their countryman.

Also, compare the animation for the construction of the Great Pyramid in Civilization 6:

https://youtu.be/xB3v3WQVF-Q?t=25s

It looks like they really are paying homage to the 'internal ramp' theory. In Civilization 4, at least, the animation features an external spiral ramp, which is convincingly debunked. I don't remember how it was in Civilization 5.

EDIT: Here's a bit more, from 'Dassault Systemes', the 3D modeling company that supports Houdin

Cool find!

Yeah, I'm really getting into Egyptian architecture now, it's fascinating stuff. Very excited to see how this is handled.

For years I've thought that Houdin's theory is solid. It's not perfect and I don't think we will ever know exactly how they built it, but his theory is the best by far. It solves the glaring issues the other theories have, and creates a viable alternative.

The only problem with it is that there's yet to be any physical evidence of an internal ramp, the the Laserscan Pyramids mission hasn't found anything that would resemble them yet.

Thanks for the reference, I didn't know about this project. A quick look through their press releases since 2015 doesn't contain anything on the order of a great discovery of the internal ramp (http://www.hip.institute/#press) -- though interestingly, Dassault Systemes (Houdin's patrons) is a sponsor of the project, and also, they seem to have stumbled across anomalies that suggest hitherto unknown structures. Perhaps continued research will uncover an even more interesting story.

The project's intention is to find hidden rooms or shafts and to get a better understanding of the Pyramids structure, so that would make sense.

As for the anomalies, they're interesting but I highly doubt they're anything as significant as an internal ramp. If I were to take an educated guess they're probably either gaps in the structure or small rooms like the one discovered in the Gueen's Chamber shaft in the 1990's:

It would still be an interestingn discovery nonetheless.
If they could find even more hieroglyphs like the ones found above, that would be amazing.

I've long been fascinated by the ancient Egyptian world and the pyramids. I'm anxiously awaiting the release of the new Creed game to see what surprises the Ubisoft teams have been able to dream up for us. Hopefully we will be able to get inside the pyramids.

Most likely the pyramids in Egypt were not bulit by humans, pyramids were bulit by some highly hi tech advenced civilization, probably of alien origins , there are alot of evidences and arguments that suggest that.

In Assassin's Creed : Origins , the Great Pyramid is probably a First Civilization temple ;)

It's my personal believe that Ubi should not exactly touch how the pyramids were built, but that's just me.

PS Ohh that scene!!!!! My hype for that movie was HUGE and then.......

Same here. I was thrilled from that last scene in Days of Future Past, then came...Oscar Isaac a 5'9" guy as En Sabah Nur.

This is supposed to be En Sabah Nur before Apocalypse:

And as Apocalypse:

And Logan & Raven under his thrall, the power:

P.S. I know the latter pictures are of Dwayne Johnson.

I would recomand everyone who is into mysteries about pyramids to check this intresting russian documentary :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9128i6qkwU

It's really intresting , does not last too long , but it's full of intresting and very useful and logical arguments , for me this is the most logical explanation about the origin and purpose of the pyramids.
But documentary is on the russian language with serbian subtitle , but probably there is a version on english too.

Yeah man, let's ignore what the peer reviewed articles and archeological/historical evidence has to say. Let's listen to this random, 46-minute Russian documentary instead

Well what mainstream science controlled by media and establishment has to say is getting just a more and more irrelevant , also offical theory about pyramids is nothing but just that , a theory , someone's thesis, established 100 or 200 years ago, which is very likely incorrect.
Also in that documentary talks all schooled scientists and experts from different areas, archeology, astronomy, physics.........etc.

I mean who with atleast 2 grams of brain can believe that stone blocks weighing 10, 20 or 50 tons were carrying a slaves , not to mention that stone blocks were stacked by precision to the milimeter , and those type of material from which blocks were made could not be founded atleast 300 kilometers from the locations where pyramids were bulit.

Not to mention that Great Pyramid is also a geographican miracle, located exactly in center of Earth's land mass , also there are pyramids all over the world , in cultures that never had any contacts with ancient Egyptians , even deep under the sea they had found one pyramid which looks like it's from glasses.

Also 15, 20 years ago I think Chinese or Japanese tried to bulit the exact replica of Great pyramid , with all these modern technology and knowledge and they could not make it , they realized that is practically mission impossible and they simply quit.

So most probably the Great pyramid was bulit by some hi tech advanced civilization , probably of alien origin.

You also believe the lizards have invaded earth and living amongst us? You've been taking Assassin's Creed and Ridley Scott movies literally. Go outside, it helps.

Are you telling me that Engineers didn't seed life on this world which then lead to the Isu evolving and subsequently creating us?!

Anyway...

I'm kinda on the train of thought that the game should be vague about the pyramids' origins. Maybe put a First Civ thing underneath them (where the actual tombs were anyway, thought that might be too obvious.

How did that introspection go?
P.S. Couldn't tell what your angle was.
