I am looking to get myself a new computer and I wanted something that I could customize, but I don't think I'll have the time or guts to actually build it myself. Can anybody recommend a reputable distributer who will build a PC to my specs, but will also take a glance at what I selected to make sure I did not screw the pooch (so to speak)? I would also prefer that they be State side to keep shipping down. Oh yeah, not getting hosed on the price would be nice as well.

Thanks

There are two that come to mind and both deserve your attention. (I'm sure theres more, these are the only ones I know of.) I feel the one, magnum, may have the edge, but will let you decide.

Another good option is to patronize your local mom & pop computer store. You'll have a custom rig, @ about 20% more than D.I.Y. That's still significantly less than Gateway or Dell. Plus you'll not be burdened w/ OEM and proprietary parts.

The best thing about going local is that if you have a problem or question you can get your answers w/o a 2 hr call to India, and your service w/o having to ship you rig across the country.

mind you, ive you have a tiled area and an anti-static wrist band, and you do your reading, theres really not much that can go wrong putting one together yourself, especially seeing as most motherboards these days are completely jumper and dip switch-less. Plus youll learn more about pcs in an afternoon that you would in a week of reading.

"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to greater danger. It works the same in any country."
