Has anyone else noticed this? 1.22 has really increased the stutter in my game. Admittedly I don't have a great pc/ video card but I just don't think I can use this.

Every time there's a patch that comes out people say that there is more stutter in the new patch. I think its over sensitivity http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

There may be issues with installing the patches and it not running clean. You may also want to double check stuff like your drivers being at an optimal and recommended version for FB as well as running a defrag on your systems hard disk. Performance tends to degrade the more stuff you have installed on your computer and the more driver clutter you have. It may not be 1.22 but rather a slow decline in performance...

You can always format http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif (I like doing that myself)

Thanks for the advice. No, this is quite noticable. And I've never had a problem with a patch before. Aannnd I just happened to have defragged two days ago. Which leaves us with the baaaaaaaad option - I'm not wiping clean just yet!

I could not disagree more about the increase of stutter. FB runs smoother for me then it ever has with the addition of 1.22. And you know whats really funny? I see very very little warping, almost none since 1.22 I wonder why that is http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
And I love the new sound...no more sonar! You can finally dive on someone and light'em up without them breaking when you 1000 meters away (or warp!) the way it was done 90% of the time in the real world.

No Stutter, and Finland runs smooth like silk, well, after it loads anyway.

Not kidding, when I run Finland map (about once every 3 months) it runs smooth but to get out of the mission I hard re~boot computer, then I can boot up into Windows and get back into the FB faster than waiting for Finland map to "unload" or whatever FB does to take so long to get out of the missions. Thats why I stay away from Finland. Sad really, cos Finland has much to offer the flight simmer.

LEXX i know EXACTLY what you mean

i have gone from 512 Mb of SD RAM 133 to 768 Mb

a LOT better

friends that have a MB that is capable of both say the going from SD RAM to DDR RAM was like night & day

they cut back on stutters / freezes dramatically

BTW i got the 1600XP AMD CPU , it runs at 1400Mhz but now the XP2500 CPU from AMD is now Very cheap

you need decent RAM & CPU for loading & spawning & also when you are in a DF room that has alot of people

the GoF map is the biggest but the moscow , balaton , lvov , & smolensk are also big maps

prokrohovka is the smallest of the real maps

MUCH more spawn freeze.

I'm wondering if it's caused by the speed comparison routines?

huh? Wha? Is this for AI fighting style? Awsum.

WUAF, that sexy Online Island map with those two islands in Gulf of Finland is also a real map, about the same size as Prokorovka too. It is the *best* island map and for me it looks more like Pacific then the "Pacific" island map. If I do a Midway mission I will use the Finland island map. Midway was a flat island...at least after the Japanese bombing. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Length of stutter has increased it seems as well. I once had a 10 second stutter on the greater green server, and many 3 second ones!

More spawn pauses here as well - top of the line computer (well, close) - defragged, reset stuff to default and back - was there a bit more in 1.21 - but it seems like old times (FB 1.0) in 1.22.

I believe your stutter is because of the increased bandwidth need to run with Patch 1.22 online and the security issues UBI tried to fix. I'm running an Intel P4 1.9 processor and 768 megs of PC 2100 DDR RAM and I have more stuttering with 1.22 than I did with 1.21.

I've also reverted back to 1.21 as have the guys I fly with. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif 1.22 just isn't worth the hassles.
