As much as I love being screamed at in Russian or German to keep on course I would prefer it if it was in English...

Since Mudmovers.com is down does anyone out there know where I could get my mits on the voice pack which translates everything into English?

I would very much appreciate it!

simply take the content of US chatter folder and replace existing RU or DE folders with that...

Letka.13/Liptow @ HL

"With the advent of the FW 190A, this was not as critical as it once had been. The aircraft was a superb dogfighter, and its pilots used it as such. The previous summer, faced with slashing attacks by the 109s, the constant complaint of RAF pilots was that 'Jerry' didn't stay and fight, totally ignoring the fact that in the 109 this was tactically correct. Now they were repaid in spades: in his new Fw 190A, 'Jerry' stayed and fought as never before."

Thanks for that mate but when I go to the website and try and PM you it wants me to register... I have registered with so many forums do I have to register with another one?

Thanks for your help and sorry to be a pain. Do I have to register to get access to the FTP?

Jurinko

Do you mean the US folder in the samples/Speech path? I have tried this but it don't work. So I tried taking out the DE and RU folders and then I get no voice-overs.

I am doing this with the original game so I suppose this is the reason it don't work...

Allied English SpeechPack (RAF chatterpack included) (http://www.forgotten.battles.pulpo.co.uk/allied%20english%20speech%20pack.zip) (7mb)

I was so impressed by Extreme_one's RAF/Commonwealth voicepack that I hosted it so my squadmates could get it. It's still up there for a limited time. Full instructions included.

Regarding your answer to Jurinko, you will have replace the folders whatever voicepacks you download; it's the only way to do it. So here is how to replace your Russian AI voices with the American ones step by step:

-open il2/samples/speech folder
-Delete the RU folder (If you don't have the original CDrom, maybe better to rename it to 'RU_backup' in case you ever want to change it back)
-rightClick the US folder
-drag it to a space in the folder window and lift your finger
-choose 'copy here' from the drop down menu
-a folder is created called 'copy of US'
-click on this folder and press F2 (or righClick the folder and choose 'Rename' from the drop down menu)
-Rename it to RU

That's it. Repeat the process for all the countries that you want to hear speak American English.
Personally I have all the allies using ExtremeOne's pack, and all the OKL speaking with American accents; it spoils immersion a little, but not as much as have those awful subtitles on the screen.

thanx guys but i think he's looking for german and russian accented english speaking voices for the RU and DE folders. Extreme ones ads a GB folder for british commonwealth voices.

GazzaMataz you don't have to register but i won't post publicly instructions/usernames/pwords to my FTP site. i'm limited to 40GB of BW a month and my latest movie had to come offline because i used up 34 of that the first week. get me an email addr i can send you the instructions and you can dl it

Email's on the way
You used to be able to get this on mudmovers, it was created for IL2 so you had to look under IL2 not IL2 FB - but they went down .
IL2FB has more separate voices than the original IL2 so some of the voices might stay in German. I changed them all to American English THEN applied the BBQ pack so now every once in a while my German accent voices switch to American accented voice but I can understand what they‚'re saying.
Best way to do this is first, copy the contents of samples\speech\us into samples\speech\ru and samples\speech\de then unzip the BBQ to samples\speech\

I'll keep the ftp open a couple more days then it off to conserve bandwidth.

On the forums I'm used to, I would call what I'm doing now spamming..... Here it seems pretty much necessary..... When we have twenty different threads discussing the new patch, pleas from newbies tend to get drowned out.....

Either way: once again..... Anyone with the BBQ English packs.... PLEASE upload them... As much as I love the commonwealth English voices they just feel wrong on the Eastern front.....

Indeed.... Either way I wish this forum would use more subforums or merged threads... Having 30 different threads all commenting on singular "bugs" in the new patch makes things difficult.... Then again, I'm a mod in another forum (and a pretty crappy one), so I prolly shouldn't throw stones in glass houses. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
