Luthier,

Would it be possible to slightly alter the collision code for PF so that when a plane comes in contact with another plane, or part of the ship, it doesn't automatically explode? I'm sure that there will be many minor collisions trying to get back aboard, or just taxiing around, and it would be so much more immersive if you didn't just blow up after barely scraping another's wingtip, or running into the barrier. I have no idea if this is doable or not, just thought I'd take a shot and ask. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Is that what happens when you DON'T have ordinance?..

Because I dont think this happens when your plane is un-armed the way the game is now... maybe I'm wrong..again.. but?

I'd like to see the collision model improved too. Currently,we can ram into the risers of a bailed pilot's parachute and completely sheer off a wing,or outright explode if we hit him dead on.

Now that happens.. but if you hit a guy in a plane at 300 + knots ?... I think its possible in R/L. You know?..

I hit an empty cardboard box on the freeway with my car and it did major damage.. severe damage.. expensive rediculous damage cheap friggin' car... it was a Volvo!

I dunno,I've heard tales of low-flying Ju-87s and P-38s hitting telephone poles and returning to base with them still lodged in the wings.....

I'm not aware that it makes any difference, but I'll go into the game today and check that out. Regardless, I'd sure like to see some aspects of the FB DM, or collision code changed for PF. I mean, if you really screw the pootch on landing, and hit your wing on that after gun mount, wouldn't it be much cooler to see your wing get ripped off rather than a big explosion? That's probably an extreme example. How about, you and your squadron are in the pack back aft waiting to take off. Assuming that Oleg was not able to comply with the request for outside views when on the carrier, regardless of what the host's settings are, you begin taxiing forward. When you think you're clear of the other aircraft, you unfold your wings. All of the sudden, there's a terrific explosion, a chain reaction begins throughout the whole pack of bomb laden planes and soon, there's nothing left but a big smoldering pile of twisted scrap metal. mmmmm we might be on to something here too fellas! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Nah

Maybe the collision code could take into account speed. If it's below xx Kph, then just the damage occurs instead of the explosion. Is that doable?
