I'm going to have a look at some online play. I've only got dial up though alas. So what Aussie servers are out there? I would like to connect directly by IP if possible.

On Hyperlobby i play on 111/JG2 or similarly named on the weekends, that is a Australian or New Zealand and an enjoyable one to, they keep the pings from us northern hemisphere lot low, so as not to lag their and now possibly your game http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

most of the aussie squads, including WTE, run up servers on a regualr basis though sometimes they are restricted to squad members for training

I seriously suggest if you are aussie and thinking of going online having a look at joining one of the various aussie squadrons, there are axis and allied ones and they are all a pretty good bunch of blokes

have a look on the squadrons forum and get a feel for what the different squadrons are about

check out WTE at:

You'll also find that you may do better than you think on some of the lower ping US servers. The IL2 series of games is remarkably tolerant of slightly higher pings, as long as your data stream is stable and uninterrupted.
