Hi Folks,

Just replaced by buggy and inaccurate ( and losing calibration in the middle of a game!)Wingman Attack 2 joystick with the Saitek X-45. HOLY SMOKES!!! I think my flying just got better 10X!!! Everything feels the way as it should be. And this is with the same joystick settings I had in my old Logitech. I have not even tweaked anything yet! You know what? Now the online manuevers I see MAKES a whole lotta sense HOW you guys can do it..http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif and the HOTAS is just so much of a time saver than using the keyboard and the rudder!

So for those using not so good a joystick and you feel that your flying is not up to par with how you THINK you should be doing? Maybe it's THE joystick http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Go try a better one and you'll probably not look back http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Anybody else feel this way???

Yep, its a pretty great stick for only $80 US. D/l a profile and you will never come near the keyboard again(except for hittin escape and a few other keys not used during combat). Oh and dont forget to install the Programming software from the Saitek site and map your hat switch to mouse view if you dont have TrackIR. Have fun, youll never want another stick again, now just need to get some rudder pedals to complete the immersion. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

You are about to embark upon a Great Crusade toward which we have strived these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking" - Gen. Dwight D. Eiseinhower-Supreme Allied Commander.

There's a profile for download in my signature. Look for posts by Adlabs for a different one.

You can have a blazing 3.4GHZ proceessor,9800XT video,1.5G of RAM,450WPS,top of the line MOBO on a huge 21inch monitor but if you have a crappy stick its no fun. The X45 is hands down the BEST HOTAS setup for the money. I see guys with $250 stick setups and i laugh to myself when I read about having to replace buttons and switches... Even at full price the X45 is a steal. Your stick is your main interface with the sim as far as control goes.
