I supose SH3 will appear with english and german languages. It would bee good that it will be easy to translate it to other languges as SHII is.
I'm a member of the staff of the spanish 24th Flotilla, a reference of the sub simulation in spanish laguage. We have translated all the SHII into spanish: sounds, voices and text. With Destroyer Command have done the same thing.
If the dev team needs our collaboration to translate the new SHIII into spanish, we can help.
My e-mail is beltza@24flotilla.com and our web is:

Cheers.

Agree with Beltza......

Would be so good to have the sim in many languages, but if it is not posible.......

Please let the files ( sound and text ) open and accesible to traslate them into a customized language.........

My full support to Beltza idea..........

Hi, Beltza has my full support. If SH3 programmers needs our help to translate this game, they will have it. At least, let the sound and text files opened so we will be able to translate SH3 to spanish language.

You are welcomed to our web http://www.24flotilla.com, that is one of the most powerful resources site and enjoyable community in spanish language for SH2 (and for sh3, I also hope...)

Personally, I don't see why you would want to listen to the crew speak anything but German, as long as there is a text translation in your native tongue down the bottom of the screen somewhere. As for the actual text, I would be very surprised if the game didn't come in Spanish.

Surprised? It is very usual that the spanish is not included as an option. And i dont understand why. The spanish is 3th lenguage in the world, behind the chinese and the english.

I'm not very fond of localisations and I find that often they are not done very well. Still, I think that there should be local versions of the game (in fact I think that is a legal obligation at least in some parts of the world).

That said, a big gripe I had with SH2 was that the instrument labels were only in English. That really spoiled the experience for me, not being able to command my U-Boot in German. So I would like to ask the devs to include a German language install in their distribution of SHIII http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Undercarriage lever a bit sticky was it, Sir?

Really? Even high profile games and publishers neglect to translate?

Yeh I agree, it is too easy for publishers to do half arsed translations, especially when the language is very technical, like the German used on a U-boot. They would be much better off asking the help of the Spanish subsim community for example, it would save time, money and result in a better product.
