It's always fascinating to see new gun camera footage. Thanks!

Check out how many tracers skip off the water, especially attacking the train amidst the rice paddies there... Little glowbugs flying all over the place. Wild.

Looks like there are quite a number of attacks on civilians http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

interesting, you should take a look at this site:

http://pauke.ee.ethz.ch:8732/oberstguncam/Frameset/index2.htm

Iirc you need to check the movies there and then find one called ww2 by ripper.

I hope tracer like that makes it into FB.

Yea, it seems like "WWII" by No_441_Ripper of 441 Silver Squadron shows exactly the same P-51 footage. Sorry, I didn't know that. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

BTW, Wiley's WWII Gun Camera World is really nice!

Obviously those are not .50 caliber Browning M-2 machine guns. Just look at how little dispersion there is! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif

One of these days I am gonna get kicked off a forum, this could be the day! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif

man those 50s were blowing up ships trains planes and looked accurate as heck! and as deadly as cannons in ww2. and thats only the mustang and not p47. those planes tore up everything they fired at in 1 to 3 seconds.and in the water at extreme range you could see there wasnt any dispersion. just concentrated fire that killed anything it touched

that may be so, but if you look closely in some of those clips, esspecially those parts where you see ground strafing taking place you might get the feeling some of those planes are second or maybe even third attackers of such targets.

I didn't see any civilian planes/installations in that footage.

One of the ship runs you can actually see the bullets going through the ships are splashing into the water on the other side.

We need tracers and bullet splashes like that lol!

What video did you look at? All I saw was attacks on airfields, trains, factories, and shipping. All legitimate targets for any air force.

Did anybody catch the use of rockets in the second clip showing an attack on the factory? Those ****ers zip right in there and blow big holes in the roof of a workshop in the foreground. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif I hope whoever was in there was taking their lunch break at the time...

The clips don't look all that different from the footage of combat over Europe, except for the terrain. And the ships. And, the planes burn more.

those 50s in that vid are obviously over moddled and quit clearly hand picked propagandea clips like all the rest that exist in the world.the thought that a 50.cal round could go through any thing other than a sheet of paper is ludicrouse. the fact that actual camera footage would try to deceive or eyes into thinking that the guns were distroying actual trains is infuriating. lol http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Man, I can't find it! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/51.gif
I have an awesome pic somewhere of a P-51 getting bore-sited on the gun range AT NIGHT. It looked like it had three phasers from Star Trek in each wing. The tgt 500 yards down range had no dispersion hits. Wish I coulkd find it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Hmm, the 50 dispersion didn't seem all that tight. As for civillians getting killed, probably only in the factories and the trains could have had civs. We did a good job of blowing up French non military trains before D-Day, so I'm sure some of the trains in Japan hit by P-51s housed civs instead of soldiers or weaps, but that is the ugly thing about war and no, it is not an excuse.

that never came in your mind that the only guncam footage we see are only the extremmely accurate and spectacular ones..? how many planes were hit by a lot of .50 and flew away without troubles..? of course we dont see such guncam, cause of course it was not going into the good political way..

I dont say .50 was a bad weapon.. not at all. I just say believing that the average efficency of .50s is reflected by the few guncam we have, is totally foolish.

same goes for other weapons btw.
