Im sure you had the best of intentions but we cannot allow links to No CD patches to be posted publically.

Your CD surely had an almost invisible fault in its inner border. These CDs are prone to get destroyed due to centrifugal forces in fast CD readers (DVDs, x52 or above). This happened to me with CFS2. Luckily, my copy was still protected by purchase warranty, and I kept the bill. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

If you owned a *legal* copy, you should contact UBI. They should give you a new copy at a lower price. And even a free copy if you are a registered user and your copy had less than 3 months. Do you keep your bill...? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

hm... what good is a NoCD patch going to do if any time in future you need to reinstall FB? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif If the CD2 is not usable any more... you have no choice but to get another one.

I would wait until patch 1.11 is officially released and then buy a used copy from one of the whiners who will proclaim he's never flying FB again.

Heck...you might even get it for free!! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

My IL-2 CD broke into about a zillion little pieces one day. I heard this load bang...from my computer. I couldn't figure it out. Then I caught a glimpse of my CDROM drive and the drawer was sticking out about and inch.

The Drive wouldn't move in or out. I had to take the thing apart to take out the CD. It was in a zillion pieces.

Who knows.

The IL2 was being sold at BestBuy for $20 so I just bought a couple.

I outsmarted myself, because I thought you would have to have IL2 to have the IL2 aircraft in FB. Maybe I should say Oleg outsmarted himself. Instead of seeing the IL2 for $9.99 now, it would probably still have some value.

anyway...that's my little tale of poor me. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I had a similar disaster like this after i`d tipped over my Rig to fiddle about with some component inside. Unbeknown to me the CD had SLIPPED in the drive out of position. I started up the PC and - Shrek! (or some similiar noise of something being scratched to death! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif )

I was able to send the CD off to the games maker and it was replaced by return for 7.50. No receipt needed!

The CD was Battlefield 1942- Mebbe UBI has a similar policy.

I would post this in technical support as well. I crushed my Neverwinter Nights cd into a hundred pieces when I rolled over it in my rolling chair. I mailed it to them and got a replacement for $5.00. Make sure you save your cd, and e-mail technical support if need be, most companies will send you a replacement for a small fee.
