Just now I was having a blast with the I16 campaign and flew some four missions now. But I cant exactly figure out when you can quit the mission in order to be able to hit apply. So far it seemed to me that all planes in the flight you joined should have landed before you get the chance to hit apply.
Fair enough, so I had a good mission where I shot down four 109's, made the trip back home, landed safely and waited on the parking for the rest of the planes to come in. As you may know this can take quite a bit of time so I used 8x the speed untill all planes landed safely. And just when the last plane landed, I put it back to normal speed to find out where that last plane exactly was. And exactly at that moment that last plane had the same idea I had, parking it on the same spot, resulting in an explosion and no refly. As you might understand it pissed me off a little bit. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

So I wonder how those of you that play campaign end your missions such that you can hit apply. And what are your experiences in what makes you able to hit apply or not.

you can hit apply after it says MISSION COMPLETE its normaly written in yellow and its in big letters in the middle of your screen http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
ow and you can turn no instant succes on/off
when you start your campaign in the difficulty option screen that means when turned off you dont have to fly back to base after a mission you just can hit apply at anytime and when turned on you need to fly back to base and land and wait till it says mission completed

i hope i helped you a bit http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Turning "No Instant Success" off is the way to go if you ask me. If you die or if you are captured, you still have to refly the mission. But lets say you just have a bad mission, you fail it but manage to come back alive. You can still continue to the next mission. Seems a bit more realistic. After all, pilots didnt hit "refly" after a failed mission that they survied.

True, very true. Its seems strange as it is with instant succes turned off, especially when AI becomes suicidal. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif

I also understand it, if you played your mission for a minium of 20 min. the mission is considered "complete" even if it doesn't say "MISSION COMPLETE" in yellow letters. Then, you can go out and hit the Esc key. I always look at a clock just before I start a mission, just in case I am critically hit, and I need to end a mission. This way, if I have played for 20 min. and have not made it back to the base, at least, I can end the game before I spin into the ground, or bail out if over friendly territory. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

As far as the AI plane hitting you, I found out a long time ago that it's better to park at the far edge of the parking areas. The AI always go into the parking areas and stop close to the near edge of it, they simply don't go far or deep into the area to park.
