View Full Version : Carrier versatility?

I was wondering the other night, and discussing with some other pilots, how versatile will the carriers be? That is, will either of the following two things be possible:

1) Will we be able to takeoff from / spawn on a MOVING carrier, which is following waypoints (like boats in FB do now), or will it have to be stationary. This would be excellent because it would really recreate some PTO history, having opposing fleets moving at eachother, etc. (ie: midway). And as far as the spawning, will we be able to spawn on the carrier repeatedly, or only if we start on it like in a coop?

2) Will we be limited in what planes can takeoff from the carriers? How about B-25's? P-47s? Just would like an idea of what we'll be able to do with this new powerfull tool.

Thanks all, and I can't even describe how anxious I am for the PF / AEP merge... woohoo!

1) There will probably not be moving ships in vs. games http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

2) Hopefully (haven't heard anything about it) we will be able to put any plane on carrier... taking off is another matter http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

PF is the best game on the horizon if you ask me http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

From what I've heard/read. Dogfighting servers will have stationary carriers, while Coop servers will have moving carriers. They'll probably be on a set course/pattern to sail.

Well, either way I guess it will add a whole new element to it. Sub detection, naval power... the whole 9 yards.

Really would be cool if they could set those carriers in motion in a DF's.. Better yet, of course, would be cool if coops had respawns..but, oh well... Still in awe of this sim no matter what...

rgrt Raven, I'm right there with ya on that note. Despite certain things that I would have loved to see (converging fleets in a DF room per say), my jaw is in a constant state of detatchment by how this sim has come along http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
