Well, I would have to do a little digging, as my reference is not all here at the moment.

But for starters, there was no USAF until 1947 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif In WWII, it was USAAC and then USAAF- United States Army Air Corps, and United States Army Air Forces

The most famous Ploesti raid was in 1943, on August 1st. It was a 9th Airforce operation with assets from the 8th included, on a low level attack, and of 177 attacking planes, 54 were lost. I'll try to find reference to a 23rd June 1944 raid, but it will take a little while

Ploesti, but not in depth on the particular raid you want (the 15th AF conducted the 23rd raid, it's in there but only breifly)

seriously, bro...are you still under the weather or are you just bored waiting for PF.

Nice articles BtW... that first low level B-24 raid got all fubar from what I've read previously. What a mess.

Nah, I'm OK, I am just annoyed that i couldn't find a few of the books I thought I had- must be at my Dad's, so I went to a couple sites I know of, and then started linking around

Here is a gem, on which I have "talked" to a few actual combat vets from WWII:

Even better is not having the book- but being convinced you remember something, and then you post it...but then you find the book, and find you were ...WRONG! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif

I reviewed through my library and don't seem to have anything except what the 20th. Fighter Group were doing on that date and they were over Pas de Calais, France. I'd be happy to provide you with a transcript of the after mission report if it would help you out in any way.

Me and some friends are doing a research about the USAAf atacks, and this day (23rd june), is one with the most balanced results for both of the sides, and with a decent amount of info about the Romanian operations. Now we mostly need info about USAAF ops.

No problem, Von_Zero, didn't figure you wanted anything but USAAF action over Romania but I thought I'd offer. I'm always glad to help fellow researchers!
