I know this would be a lot of work, but I thought I would suggest the advent of "Default" skins for the desert map. Its not a problem for regular aircraft as you can just use downloaded skins, its just that stationary planes that are in the default for the summer forested area dont blend in well with the surroundings. It would be nice to see default skins added to the mix.

Thanks

Steaky

PS The desert Map is the best (just like the rest of the patch) and i think the only thing that would make it perfect was what i mentioned above.

They are flyable aircraft with 2 waypoints.
Its a little trick i did to make static aircraft have custom skins.
First create the 2 waypoints and then one select take off.
Then switch the take off waypoint back to normal fly and set speed and height at 0. Voula, the plane sits where ever on the airfield you want and with what ever skin you want.
But the AI will take off regardless because you can't set the second waypoint at 0,0. If you set fuel at 0, the pilot will bail out.
There used to be a bug before AEP where if you did this and selected a pilot skin that had a space in its name like "Pdog Rafpilot.bmp" then the cockpit would show up as empty, have like an invisible pilot it was cool but now its just taken over by default pilot.

I just started a thread where I show how you can use AI planes as stationary aircraft, which makes it possible to equip them with custom skins in coop or single player missions:

1c could ask the skinners of really good desert skins if they can use there skins as default for desert.
means they dont haveto make them, but maybe more hassle contacting ppl etc
