Hopefully this post will be taken in the context I intend and not as a flame or a whine.

With that said here is the post /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Recently with the release of the BETA patch for Forgotten Battles we have seen many flames, fights, and differences of opinion. Some are genuine FM/DM debates which contain a lot of valid information. Some are what would be classified as 'wish list' items IMO because someones favorite Aircraft does not perform as they would hope but no accompanying documentation is given. Some are if Oleg is correct why the changes in FM? There are a host of others out there we've all read them and I won't bore you with what they are.

I would suggest that people drop the attitudes, understand and read the 'Read Me' that came with the patch and let's get back to basics. You've been given a golden opportunity to be involved in the development of this product, please don't ruin it for those who wanted this or are taking this seriously. It's not fair to them. A lot of trust has been put forward in this.... don't let them down.

If you believe that this post is just hot air or do not want to be involved in testing then the only suggestions I have for you are to go back to boxed version and wait for a non-beta patch version. Maybe UBI can add the ability to use version 1.0 in the game service to satisfy your need, if not Hyperlobby auto-detects version and still allows use of 1.0.

Now here's what I propose to help those who are interested in actual testing of the patch.

Posts pertaining to suspected bugs are posted HERE (http://forums.ubi.com/messages/message_view-topic.asp?name=us_il2sturmovik_ts&id=zwkvj) for discussion. Please compare with others so 200 people do not report the same bugs over and over. This thread is for comparison and information gathering only. Flames or arguments will be deleted with no warning. Posters who add their input with this game sucks, or in those lines will be shown the door and I will ban from the Tech Forum. The Tech forum is for those who want/need/or want to help others. Has nothing to do with the feelings they show and I understand some peoples frustration it's just not the right place IMO. Posters are asked to add a post if they made a bug report via e-mail and a copy of the actual content of bug report (we can then compare any new vs future reports).

Key points to remember are:

Patch files are provided as the final version of 1.1b; however, limited options are reserved for open beta. If you experience serious troubles playing this version, please send bug reports to il2beta@1c.ru and we'll do our best to correct these with the next patch or add-on.

When making such a report, please fill out the attached form and send it via e-mail.

!!Note that no wish lists, suggestions or FM speculations are accepted via that address, you should discuss these in the official UBI.com forum instead!!

Bug Reporting

Bug Reporting enables you to get across information about irregularities, problems, bugs and other defects in FB version 1.1b directly to 1C:Maddox Games via e-mail (special mailbox il2beta@1c.ru is issued to collect your information). You can also use the Bug Report to give us feedback on certain issues.
Before sending us a report, please convert TGA files to JPG, and zip large files.

Bug report form
1. Version Number
2. Computer (complete info. including versions and type of video/sound drivers and type of online connection)
3. Bug/Defect Description (short, including description for each screenshot or track, if is)
4. Describe steps to reproduce the bug (detailed)
6. File Attachment (Screenshots, tracks or logfiles)

Hopefully we can organize and gather enough viable information to speed up the process and reduce multiple cross-posts.

*** Remember ONLY E-MAIL bug reports. Posts may not be read or used by the development team. That really goes for any posts listed, there's just so much information all over /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Well said!

Will be very difficult for anyone to take this post out of context hunter, IMHO, lets regard this patch as the golden opportunity it really is:

To take part in the further development of Forgotton Battles.

I fully agree, but I think your action might be in vain.

I'm confident that, over the next few weeks until another patch has been released, we will continue to see threads about "fix my [insert fav plane here] plz", even with "-nt" suffixes.

oh well, one can dream, right? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Nice! This should put a break to all the whining /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

However, there is really a muted-sound bug in the game but, does anybody know a way to reproduce it? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Well said, and supported 110 percent. Since i know nothing of flight modeles or damage modeles and such,I am content to let the experts do there job and will reap the benifits of thier labors.
This a golden opportunity to get involved in a great sim as i have never seen this before. If we the people are not careful this chance will never come again and we will have only our selves to blame. So lets quite the whining and work to make it better. Just my two cents worht.
ps my spelling sucks

Should be at the top. Here's to learning real history, and how it effects us in the game (as opposed to the reverse): Cheers.

Thanks, Hunter. You eloquently said what has been brewing in my pea-brain for days (minus the obscenities in my version.) Reference my more verbose comment in this thread:

The problem as I see it, is knowing whether something I dont like with the game is a bug or an intentional feature.
For instance..disappearing parked AI aircraft. Flat Balaton scenery which should be hilly. The sound, which has been disappointing from original IL2 onward. The poor visual transition of distant aircraft to close detailed aircraft.

Are these just fixable bugs, or features which are here to stay.

As we all know the sim is way ahead of anything else but could be stunning with these sort of issues cleared up.

This is not a whine, just a plea for prioritisation.IMO this sort of thing is far more important to fix than some rear view mirror showing/not showing in external etc etc.
