OK all you Sierra Hotel Movie Makers, you have WOW'd the community with some of the best movies and trailers I have seen for a product, and heck for some movies, for that matter!

Now I have a challenge for you! It won't bring riches, it might bring some fame in our little community, that some of you already have because of your excellent works before.

Here is your challenge, should you be up to it!

The movies that have made are really good and the music has been excellent mood setter. But isn't it time to add a little Old School Bump and Groove to these things? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif My challenge to you is to make a trailer, which follows a combat story line (No Blue Angels stuff) of some sort to the music "I've got the Power", by Snap, which can be found on the sound track for the movie COYOTE UGLY. Or upon request I can provide you with the music.

This all came about as I was driving down the road and was listening to some old school funk (37 year old white guy http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif) which I enjoy listening to when not enjoying George Straight or some Western Swing. I thought it is about time to add some spice and some funk to the mix. I don't have the abilities to make something like this that would look like quality, but I know a few in this community who have made EXCELLENT vid's.

So..............Are you up to it? Lets get some life to the trailers and you know with the music I challenged you with, you could be REALLY creative! I hope at least a few of you take up the challenge.

If any sites are willing to sponsor this challenge, I would be glad to talk to someone about prizes and such, to co-sponsor with the 100th AFW Buddy Boys. But for now, it is an open challenge.

Sounds like fun! I will have to dust off my editing tools... When will the deadline be?

I hate this to sound like a flame, 'cause it's really not in my nature. However, I've got a bit of a problem with Snap's 'I've Got The Power' being associated with funk.

LMAO, ok Brun, but somewhere in that music is some funk, I know it! I heard it! I love some funk! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

No deadline as it is now. It is just an open challenge. If it progresses and some site wants to pimp it then that could change and it could be a formal competition. But for now, whoop it up and lets see what you all have. If we get several people into it, and some fun is had, I might have to make it a formal competition for the next challenge, of which I actually already have the song picked out! Then there might be some prizes involved.

I agree, I'd like to see some movies with some more funky stuff rather than the very emotional stuff. (Getting spoiled now)

A good tune to end a movie with:

James Brown - The Boss

"Paid the cost to be the boss.....and I'm a bad motha!"

I'll let everyone know. I want this to be fun and something the whole community can enjoy. But if a site wants to make it formal, then so be it.

Dayummmm!!! BuddyBoys, you read my mind. Wish I had some movie making skills (haven't tried, really). Used to DJ back in college in the heat of funkdom during the early 80s. If anyone wants suggestions for tunes, give me a holler. I have ideas.
