One of our newest members "BSS_cdt_Goat" made an interesting mission to aide carrier landing practice in IL-2 FB/AEP. BSS_Absolute reconfigured it to accomodate a Dogfight mission so crashed pilots could refly and continue training. Abs also instilled markers to help guide trainees of proper position in the landing pattern with bon fires and surface ships. A bridge is over the target landing area to re-enforce staying on glide path and buildings are installed on the runway to enforce good line-up on final. Bon fires at the end of the runway depict four arresting cable positions.
Four Blacksheep Members and a few VMF-513 members had nothing but good comments about the training. Approach speeds ranged from 180-200 kph.

If anyone would like to try this with us, don't hesitate to join in. We do need you on comms to help you out and keep a coordinated effort around the practice field.

Thanks Vidar.

Is this mission available for the public to download?

BSS_Absolute is refining the dogfight mission as we speak. A better prepresentation of the carriers scale has been improved and the stadium has been swapped for smoke stacks to give a better feel for an island superstructure presence. I believe we can supply the final version as a downloadable file from our screenshots page.
