the trim in CFS2, you were quite correct about.

It acted more as a 'mini elevator', than a trim tab
Even with the control cables shot out, the pilot could still fly around quite normally

A question; Did RL pilots use trim to advantage in ACMs ?
And why, when the mention of flaps being mapped to a slider, does everything go very, very quiet ?

people in FB used the old trim for the exact same effect

it got slowed down

its simple to get used too & stops the Trim turning that the old trim made possible

all people have to do is compensate & use a little predicting skill & the trim in FB is fine

they were/are so lazy to learn the proper way to fly plane a against plane b they decided to rely on trim only...and bi-tched royally when their crutch got taken away since they have to do it like the honorable pilots did from day 1. btw, ojisan_rock didnt didnt use trim period in cfs2, and when he was in a a6m2 zero, he was dam near untouchable even against these super-trim users....he will be an extremely dangerous opponent after he gets used to this game.

Ojisan Alpha claimed in another forum that CFS2 was more realistic that FB

he went on to say he was virtually unbeatable

i shot him down 1 v 1 last year at HL

trim has a place in this game . . . . . there are some that dont want to learn how to completely control their aircraft & just want to use the joystick for everything , all the time , & nothing else

they are the ones that trim turns should be inflicted upon

hey bad, if cfs2 had the 'most realistic' flight models, then explain how their corsair and hellcat would flop around like a fish outta water in a heartbeat...yet, every video shows extremely easy to get out of stalls, and u'd have to really pork yerself to wind up in a spin; another thing cfs2's so-called 'realistic' fm's would do. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/34.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif

well Ojisan_Alpha had a thing about stalls & FB does stall a lot more nicely . . . . apparently

this fact leveled the playing ground on mr Alpha slightly & he didnt like it is how i took it

No, no,
The stock CFS2 flight models were for the most...porked.
The community pulled some of the stock planes out of the fat.
1% planes were pretty good, for that sim's engine.
A lot of us did not use trim at all, some used trim (untowardly)to do amazing feats. Some used keyboard only to amazing results.

Maybe mapping flaps to a mousewheel or slider good be fixed as well ?

Oh, stalls are not modelled well in FB. They are good but as such, still dodgy. An accepted limitation of the sim engine.
Feeling positive about BoB though.

Or is it that most are very happy to be able to unrealistically use a very slight flap setting (one notch on the mousewheel) on planes that just didn't have that availble ?
But whinge and carryon about unfairly using trim.
