I was on France sim when I found a brand new vid. It show TBFs unfolding their wings, takeing off, getting shot down, and making a torp run on what appears to be the Kaga! No actual sound but music instead. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/51.gif

It would be nice if the developers could adjust the sequence of the AI so that they wait to unfold their wings until after their engines are started. It would also be nice to see a plane take off from the CV in one of these movies that doesn't leave a wake on the water as it's pulling away from the ship! I have to think that they just haven't gotten the wind over the deck figured out yet. Maybe it's due to the fact that, in FB at least, there isn't any wind modeled.

Quite a pretty little video though. I can't wait to see one from a later beta! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Merlin is right, Kaga was sunk in Midway by Dauntless dive bombers, and the US torpedo bomber by then was Devastator, Avenger still not in service. But I think Akagi was sunk also there, so Avengers should not be attacking it... unless in a what-if scenario. (They can show anything they want, tho.) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Errors seen and hopefully will be corrected.

Propellers rotating in the opposite direction of U.S. built engines.

Wings unfold before or during engine start.

Smoking tires upon takeoff.

Over modeled wake from low flying aircraft.

Bomb bay doors open just as the torpedo is dropped, should be open well before release.

Granted, this is a beta version and hopefully the final version will correct these problems.

Tnx for the video, but...PLEASE, WE WANT TO SEE COCKPITS AND GUNNER POSITIONS! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
I cant believe that the beta have only the Wildcat, Corsair and Zero cockpits..
Please, take this into account for the next videos.

"The first production TBF-1, BuNo. 00373, flew on January 3, 1942. Six TBF-1s flew from Grumman's Plant 2 with additional tanks in the bomb bay across the Pacific to Pearl Harbor to be attached to the USS Hornet's VT-8. The carrier had departed; and the aircrafts few to Midway island and were involved in the Battle of Midway.

On June 4, 1942, the six flew into the Battle of Midway; only one survived. After his attempt to torpedo a cruiser, Ensign Albert K. Earnest flew his badly damaged TBF-1 back to Midway, using the trim tab for longitudinal control. The radioman, 3rd Lass Harrier H. Ferrier was injured, and Seaman 1st Class Jay D. Manning, who was operating the .50 caliber machine gun turret, was killed."

I thought the famous 'suicide' torpedo attack was made by TBDs... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif ...or maybe it's another sortie I'm talking about. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Ah, Ok, forget it. It was first a TBF attack from Midway. Then, the TBDs from US carriers. Clear. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Great find joberrick, thanks. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I'm more concerned about the complete lack of maneuvering (besides steaming ahead) on behalf of the carrier. We didn't have this in FB either, but in a sim where naval battles are critical, it would be highly desirable. Of course, I don't know how difficult it would be to implement.
